The refreshed 2022 Nissan Murano SUV is coming. The third generation of the Murano was introduced in 2015, and five years after, the manufacturer decided to release a completely redesigned version. The new model will continue its journey with modern styling and a two-row layout from what we heard.

Thanks to that, we assume that the Nissan Murano is ready to receive some electrification. The next-generation will be introduced at some point next year, and it will be based on the Ariya model.

The outside styling of the 2022 Nissan Murano will differ from the outgoing model. Generally, we think that some small refreshments will happen that will apart it from the rest of the models. If you didn’t know, Murano was among the first Nissan`s models that receive round lines, swept angles, and smooth lines.
This model is very recognized by the famous “floating roof,” Nissan’s “V-Motion” front end, and standard roof rails. According to the information that we got, the next Murano’s grille will be wider and more stylish to keep it fresh. It will be probably identical to the Ariya model. The 2022 Murano will probably be available in four trims: S, SV, SL, and the top-line Platinum. The least expensive Murano S comes with cloth seats and a manual-adjust driver’s seat. It should also include a cleaner dash, a new touch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, automatic emergency braking system, and 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth audio system with USB and auxiliary inputs.
The most expensive Platinum trim will add more luxury. This trim features semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts, panoramic moonroof, power-adjust steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, and NissanConnect Services.
2022 Nissan Murano Powertrain Specs
The current Nissan Murano is an SUV that comes with a single-engine. This model comes with a 3.5-liter V6 unit delivering 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. It uses a front-wheel-drive as standard and is available only with the sturdy CVT gearbox. Also, all trims can be optioned with an all-wheel-drive (AWD). In the towing department, the Murano’s rating is just 1,500 pounds, which is low for this segment. For comparison, the Jeep Grand Cherokee equipped with V6 can pull 6,200 pounds, while Honda Passport can maximum tow 5,000.
However, we recently heard that Murano would use an entirely new platform to adopt hybrid or electric systems. Overall, Nissan used in 2016 a mild-hybrid system, and we think it is the right time to release the EV model. Murano EV will most likely use many cues from the recently introduced Ariya concept. So, if that happens, the new EV model might provide up to 250 miles in a single charge.
Release Date and Price
The new-generation 2022 Nissan Murano will arrive sometime in the following year. The current Nissan Murano has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $31,530, without destination charge. Moreover, the price list ends with a heavily-loaded Murano Platinum with AWD that cost over $45,000.
An electric drivetrain that still rumors might cost about $50,000. However, there is still a lot of time until the debut, and we can expect more news later this year.
