However, some equipment will remain the same, as the proven powertrain. This model continuously uses a 4.6-liter V8 making 301 horsepower and the same somewhat outdated yet reliable 6-speed automatic transmission.

This new 2022 Lexus GX460 model will bring some changes. Basically, expect more aggressive and the same boxy design. This model is known for its massive grille, and new triple-beam LED standard headlights. The boxy shape has several advantages compared to rivals. 2022 Lexus GX460 Powertrain Specs
Unfortunately, there are no engine or transmission changes to the 2022 GX460. Still, this outdated engine can compete with many nowadays models. It consists of a potent 4.6-liter V8 that is making 301 horsepower. Also, it uses all four wheels through a reliable 6-speed automatic transmission.
We must mention that the gearbox also includes a 2-speed transfer case and a locking center differential. Thanks to that, Lexus GX460 is ideal for serious off-roading.
Release Date and Price
We don’t know the exact release date of 2022 Lexus GX460. The new model will most likely appear next year. Overall, fans can expect better and modern styling and a revised cabin. As we stated, some of the equipment would remain the same, as the proven V8 powertrain.
As for the price, we think that it could be slightly increased. The current entry SUV cost $53,000, without destination charge of $1,025. More equipment can be found in Premium trim for the reasonable price of $56,815. However, the most Luxury version could easily reach $70,000. At the same price range are models such as Audi Q7, BMW X5, Land Rover Discovery, while the Acura MDX is much less expensive.
