The design looks stunning, and the MDX is most likely to become the next luxury flagship model. Basically, this SUV comes with a ton of standard kit, and it receives an all-new interior. On top of that, the Acura will dress the MDX model with a Type S badge for the first time. That means we should expect more aggressive styling and an enhanced sporty stance. The non Type S model will arrive if it is to believe on February 2 with a starting price of $46,900.
2022 Acura MDX Redesign
The forthcoming 2022 Acura MDX sits on the same platform as the predecessor, featuring a double-wishbone front suspension and a larger tire contact patch. Unlike the predecessor, the new MDX grows by 2.8-inches (71 millimeters) in length and 1.4 inches (35 mm) in width.
Overall, the design is compact, and it hosts an increased dash-to-axle ratio, resulting in a more sporty stance. Like the new TLX and RDX models, the MDX comes with the same design language. It features brands Diamond Pentagon grille, JewelEye headlights, and Chicane daytime running front and center lights. The A-Spec trim adds a more attractive exterior and a special badge on the grille and back.
Seductive Style Inside
The 2022 Acura MDX interior refines the TLX’s design language, which is a big plus. However, unlike the sedan model, this SUV offers 16.3 cubic feet of cargo with the seats up and 71.4 cubic feet with the second and third-row seats folded down. It also features more standard equipment, and buyers of the basic model will get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an amazing new 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Qi-compatible wireless charging are included as the standard equipment. The A-Spec trim and Advance Package are the most favorite with side bolster, offering 16-way power front seats and much better quality and technology.
2022 Acura MDX Engine Performances
The new Acura MDX comes with the same proven engine. This model under sleek sheet metal has a very potent 3.5-liter V6, producing 290 horsepower (216 kilowatts) and 267 pound-feet (362 Newton-meters) of torque. For transferring power, the manufacturer used the new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
However, more power generates the high-performance Type S model. This version deploys a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which makes an estimated 355 hp (264 kW) and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) of torque. Overall, as you can see, both engines are very potent. However, the manufacturer didn’t provide any details regarding the fuel economy.
Release Date and Price
The upcoming 2022 Acura MDX is an excellent and stylish SUV that will receive plenty of upgrades over the previous model. Officially, the non-Type S 2022 Acura MDX will hit the dealer on February 2 with a starting price of $46,900.
Compared to the outgoing model, the cost of the new MDX is increased by $2000. However, from some early reports, the Type S version will arrive later this year. The pricing of this high-performance model is not yet unveiled.
