The new 2023 Kia Sorento offers four powertrain options. The base engine makes modest performance numbers thanks to a 2.5-liter inline-4 that delivers 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Literary, you can upgrades from this engine to the turbocharged version that makes 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Besides, there are two hybrid options.

The first one consists of a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder w/44-kW electric motor developing 227 horsepower combined. All-new is the Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) model that uses a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine and 66.9-kW electric motor. This unit combined delivers an output of 261 horsepower. Kia stated that the PHEV model would go all-electric about 30 miles before the gas engine kicks in.

As we heard, it seems that the 2022 model will be skipped and that Kia will introduce a 2023 model year. Actually, we can expect the new 2023 Kia Sorento to arrive sometime next year, featuring completely revised front and rear fascia’s.
