The all-new 2021 Buick Encore GX is the model that is based on the standard one, which has been a significant success for Buick. However, compared these guys, the latest Buick Encore GX has better proportions.
Basically, this is the boosted version that looks great from all angles. The manufacturer did a real job giving this SUV improved stance, short overhangs, and length and width to make it more competitive. Dimensionally, the standard Buick Encore is a 168.4-inch vehicle with a 100.6-inch wheelbase, while Encore GX is a 171.4-inch vehicle with a 102.2-inch wheelbase.
Cabin Changes
The cabin of the 2021 Buick Encore GX is significantly improved compared to the regular one. Primarily thanks to its dimensional changes, this model will offer a more comfortable cabin. There’s enough room for a 5-foot-10-inch person to sit comfortably. Also, back seat splits can be 60/40 folds for improved cargo. Behind, there are 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which is nearly as much as the 26.9 available in its larger Envision sibling.
The all-new Buick Encore GX is available in three levels: Preferred, Select, and Essence. The entry-level trim Preferred includes push-button ignition, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and 18-inch alloy wheels. For example, going for Select trim, buyers will get a heated front seat, dual-zone climate control, and luggage rack. Safety package of this one includes blind-spot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist. Lastly, Essence is the most equipped. This trim will offer leather-covered seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an air ionizer.
2021 Buick Encore GX Two Turbocharged Engines
The upcoming 2021 Buick Encore GX is a small crossover that will offer two engine options. As we mentioned, this model will share the same platform and engines with the famous Chevy Trailblazer. The base model will come with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that can deliver 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. However, optionally, one can get a little stronger 1.3-liter three-cylinder that is a much better option for our opinion. This mill provides a slightly better output than the base one. Thanks to the engine above, the GX optional powertrain produces 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines will be equipped standardly with a front-wheel-drive system, while AWD is still optional. Interestingly, a 1.3-liter diesel will use 9-speed automatic transmission, unlike the base one that comes with a CVT transmission.
Release Date and Price
The latest 2021 Buick Encore GX wears better clothes than the regular one. According to the manufacturer, the entry-level will cost $24,000. Going for the model that uses the AWD system and more features, the price will pass a $28,000 mark.
Encore GX is the small crossover SUV that is the main competitor to models such as Mazda CX-30, Honda HR-V, and Kia Seltos.
