Mazda introduced the all-new crossover at the Geneva Motor Show. The compact model will arrive as the 2020 Mazda CX-30. The CX-30 model will hit the markets at some point next year and it will arrive with amazing styling. Dimensionally, CX-30 slots between the CX-3 and CX-5 models. It is 173.0 inches long and it is hard to put CX-30 just in one segment.
It is larger than the subcompact vehicles but smaller than the compact models. Mazda is just following the current trend as we already saw similar moves from Nissan and Jeep. During the presentation, Mazda promised great performances and superb handling.
2020 Mazda CX-30 Design Review and Dimensions
We have no doubts that the Mazda will deliver an attractive model. The upcoming 2020 Mazda CX-30 will look very handsome and stylish. We like the clean design with small creases on the hood and to the sides. The rest of the design looks flat and subtle. The compact crossover is clearly based on the Mazda 3 model.
A lot of cues and features are similar or exactly the same. CX-30 model is 173.0 inches long and we are yet to find out in which segment will this crossover slot. It is larger than the CX-3 model but smaller than the CX-5. SkyActiv architecture is available once again after the Mazda 3 already arrived with this design language.
Interior Offers Great Comfort
The interior will come with so many hi-tech features. The 2020 Mazda CX-30 will look very modern from the inside. However, the interior lacks some uniqueness. Design is visually the same as in the Mazda 3 sedan. On the other hand, Mazda 3 offers astonishing interior design. However, for CX-30 crossover, Mazda did improve the sound insulation. Mazda promised great ride comfort and high level of comfort. Front seats are sporting an all-new design, something we didn’t see from Mazda so far.
This crossover comes with a premium 12-speaker audio system as standard. Also, the safety rating is perfect. Thanks to Mazda’s i-Active sense suite, most of the safety aids are standard. That includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and pedestrian detection. The crossover also gets an auto high beams and forward emergency braking. Interior room is ample for such a compact vehicle. Even the cargo area is generous but not as generous as inside the CX-5 model.
Powertrain Specs
The forthcoming 2020 Mazda CX-30 will ride on the same engine lineup as its Mazda 3 sibling. This sedan is offering a 2.5-liter four-cylinder as standard. The naturally-aspirated unit can reach 186 HP and it comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will be optional. This engine comes with a Mazda’s SkyActiv-X compression system.
Thanks to this system, the engine delivers great performances and improved fuel economy. The compact crossover will offer a front-wheel-drive system as standard. All-wheel-drive setup will be optional. Just like the Mazda 3, CX-30 will borrow the same suspension as well.
2020 Mazda CX-30 Cost and Arrival
Mazda’s all-new compact crossover will hit the markets at some point in 2020. We predict for 2020 Mazda CX-30 to arrive in the first half of 2020. The price is still unavailable. However, some reports are suggesting a price in the range between $20,000 and $25,000.
