The new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will arrive next year, bringing many changes. Mitsubishi shared last week a few images, and as we can see, the forthcoming SUV will feature an attractive design and a new plug-in hybrid system for the first time. However, the primary styling cues are unique hybrid badges that can be seen on the front fenders and a charging port.
Moreover, the forthcoming SUV will share plenty of design elements inside with the outgoing model, featuring a third-row seat and enough room for seven passengers. According to the manufacturer, the latest edition will be available in ten colors including red, white, and black.
2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Redesign
The redesigned 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander looks compact and attractive. As we can see from the first official images, the manufacturer makes some changes to the front fascia. First, the daytime running lights and turn signals are now sitting higher on the front, while the LED headlights are mounted lower. The LED headlights are visually attractive and include three vertically arranged lights, with two low beams at the top and a high beam at the bottom.
On the side profile, the Mitsubishi Outlander features wheels that will reportedly range from 18 to 20 inches. We also noticed a new roof pillar that looks similar to the tailfin of a jet.
More Modern Interior
Inside, the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will not differ too much from its predecessor. We expect the same comfortable cabin with room for seven passengers. Also, from available information, Mitsubishi will add more quality materials, and we should expect plenty of standard features.
The forthcoming model will include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch center screen on the technology side. It should also come standard with Wireless smartphone charging capability with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. Top-tier Mitsubishi Outlanders will add 10.8-inch head-up display, as well as semi-aniline leather seat upholstery, navigation, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system.
2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV System
The full details of the new PHEV system on the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will be available in the coming weeks. So far, we know that the new Outlander will offer an all-wheel-drive system with two electric motors.
According to Mitsubishi, one engine will be in the front and one in the rear. Also, the new Mitsubishi Outlander will offer more electric driving range than the outgoing model. Therefore, we expect at least EPA-rated to go 24 miles on a full charge.
Release Date and Price
The debut of the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV model will happen next year. We believe that the new edition will appear before summer. As you may know, this SUV was the only plug-in-hybrid available in the U.S. for some time, and the new variant will face more competition this time around.
Toyota will reportedly release the RAV4 Prime next year, and Ford should introduce the new PHEV version of the Escape. Mitsubishi has shared a few photos of the PHEV variant ahead of its full debut on October 28, and we must admit, its design looks much better than before. The price will be known in the coming weeks.
