The power of this unit flows through an eight-speed automatic transmission and front wheels as standard.

However, a more efficient RAV4 hybrid is available as well, consisting of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a great lithium-ion battery. Unlike the first engine, this one comes with all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The estimated fuel average economy is 40 mpg, resulting in more than 600 miles on a full tank.

Release Date and Price

The upcoming 2022 Toyota RAV4 will be more attractive, but it will, unfortunately, gain only mild changes over the previous generation. Toyota didn’t reveal any information regarding its official release date, but we can expect it to be introduced later this year.

Also, pricing of the RAV4 is not yet officially revealed. Generally, we expect its MSRP to remain close to the current model. There are no significant changes in the works, so the price might be the same for the base model, starting at $27,000. Of course, more equipment means more money, so, except fully loaded RAV4 to easily pass $40k.
