The largest SUV in Volvo’s lineup, XC90, is ready to receive some important updates for the next year. According to many reports, the upcoming 2022 Volvo XC90 may be the last version to use an internal combustion engine.
Håkan Samuelsson confirmed that at the last press conference. He said that the third-generation would be available with a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain for the last time. It also said that the company’s plan is to redesign and move at least half of the brand’s vehicles to be fully-electric by 2025. The next-generation Volvo XC90 will be better than the predecessor, and we can expect it to arrive in late 2021 or 2022.

It comes with an all-wheel drive as standard and with average fuel consumption of 22 mpg.
The last engine comes with a plug-in hybrid arrangement. This system is available only on T8 models, and it adds an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. The PHEV model’s total system output is a considerable 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. It can travel 18 miles and delivers EPA city/highway fuel economy of 55 MPGe/27 mpg combined.
Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Volvo XC90 looks more attractive than the outgoing model. Generally, because of mild updates, the forthcoming SUV will probably cost slightly higher.
