General Motors luxury brand revealed the new long-wheelbase 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV model that is based on the popular SUVs Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Pre-orders have just started and according to the manufacturer, deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year.
Like the short-wheelbase Escalade, the new ESV underpinnings the same platform as the Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL. Cadillac said that the upcoming model would be much bigger and it will increase space inside by 18.1% over the previous generation. 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV Is Bigger Than the Massive Lincoln Navigator L
So a regular Escalade just isn’t big enough for you? There is always an alternative, the bigger brother 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV. The new model is more significant and meaner. First thing first, ESV borrows underpinnings from the Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL, which makes it very unique. The whole architecture is robust and can take very potent engines.
Unlike the regular model, the Escalade ESV is 15 inches longer (227 inches) and it provides almost identical design as the shorter version. Cadillac says that the upcoming ESV model is the class-leading and is even more extensive than the massive Lincoln Navigator L.
First Look Inside
Unlike the short-wheelbase Escalade, the new 2021 Cadillac ESV will be roomier inside. However, both models will share plenty of styling cues. Like the short-wheelbase Escalade, which was revealed in February, the upcoming ESV features the same 38-inch curved OLED display that contains three elements. With that, we mean that it contents a 7.2-inch touchscreen, a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 16.9-inch touchscreen that controls all main functions. This setup is available on the standard model as well.
Besides that, the ESV model will offer more comfort and Cadillac said the ESV has behind first row 142 cubic feet of cargo space. If we compare it with the short-wheelbase Escalade, this is an increase of 18.1%.
2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV is the SUV that will use the same mechanics as the regular model. Moreover, even the powertrain options remain identical, too. A strong V8 6.2-liter engine will power this model as the standard option. This SUV shifts power to the rear wheels or all four and it uses a 10-speed automatic transmission. Generally, there is no difference at all between ESV and the regular one. Both versions provide the same output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
The next one powertrain that is a no-cost option is 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 that can deliver 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This unit will also use the same 10-speed automatic transmission. There will be plenty of modifications, and buyers can replace GM’s Magnetic Ride Control and an adaptive air suspension.
2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV Release Date and Price
Cadillac will launch the new ESV model this fall. If you are interesting, there is even an available online shopping configurator. Besides that, there is a virtual showroom that lets customers take a virtual tour in 360-degree views of the SUV.
Pricing for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade starts at $77,490 for the regular short-wheelbase model. However, going up for Escalade ESV that is a much more prominent alternative, the price will jump to $80,490.
