2021 Mazda CX-7 Officially Confirmed

After a spectacular year of sales, the Japanese carmaker will introduce an all-new version of 2021 Mazda CX-7. According to numerous speculations, the upcoming CX-7 will present a more stylish look and a great cabin. Thanks primarily to Kodo design language that is used on most of the Mazdas nowadays cars, we can expect an excellent look.

If you didn’t know, this famous mid-size SUV has been discontinued in late 2012, and after that til now is speculated about its comeback. However, this is happening right now and the manufacturer officially confirmed these claims.

First of all, the design of 2021 Mazda CX-7 will be changed thanks to the new Kodo design language. So, we can expect similar styling as on the smaller CX-5 and larger CX-9. Basically, the new CX-7 will borrow most of the cues from these two models.

That means that we can expect the familiar traditional grille and high designed front fascia with the same shaped LED headlight as on the CX-5. Dimensionally, according to the latest reports, the new 2021 Mazda CX-7 will be 190 inches long with the wheelbase that measures 110-inches.

Cabin Changes

The interior of 2021 Mazda CX-7 will be more attractive than before. Moreover, the new model will keep the same trendy and modern design. As you may have already known, Mazda is well known in the world as one of the few companies that provide excellent design language inside. Like the Mazda CX-5, the new model will be stylish and spacious inside. Clearly, lots of features and cues will be definitively borrowed from the smaller CX-5 model.

Even the base model will be equipped with lots of standard features. Features that will be definitively carryover from CX-5 include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM radio, Bluetooth, wireless charging, navigation and more. Grand Touring model is the most expensive trim that will add Bose 10-speaker audio sound system with Centerpoint 2 and AudioPilot 2, infotainment system voice command, 7″ full-color touch screen display, remote keyless entry system, leather-wrapped steering wheel and more premium amenities.

The redesigned 2021 Mazda CX-7 will be definitively available with the two engine options. Basically, in this department, we can only expect some small modifications. The base powertrain will use a 2.5-liter powertrain that delivers 225 hp and 310 lb-ft. This engine will use the same six-speed automatic transmission as the predecessor and it will use a front wheels system.

A next alternative is a SkyActive-D unit that will be offered as an optional powertrain. This model will be powered by a 2.2-liter powertrain that can produce 175 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque.
