Exterior Changes
The upcoming 2021 Mazda CX-5 will once again arrive with the company’s KODO design language. Basically, all of the Mazda’s models are featuring the same design. Still, CX-5 will undergo minor visual improvements. The front grille will get more chrome accents and the taillights are decreased. The rear bumper will from now on look more styling and 17-inch alloy wheels will remain standard.
CX-5 is a compact crossover that is 179.1 inches long and 72.5 inches wide. This crossover comes with 8.2 inches of ground clearance and the ride is more than good. However, we can’t say the styling is unique. Whatsoever, the styling is the same as on the CX-9 model.
Premium Interior Design
When it comes to the interior, the 2021 Mazda CX-5 offers amazing cabin design. Whatsoever, it is one of the best interiors in the compact segment. Everything looks high-quality and materials from the inside are amazing. Still, Signature trim level is something completely different and way more luxurious. The base model provides great comfort, good visibility and the cabin is driver-oriented.
Standard upholstery is made of soft real leather and the seats are very supportive. There is a room for five passengers and taller rear occupants could have a hard time back there. Still, cargo area is something that Mazda needs to work on. Folding the rear seats provides “only” 60 cubic feet of space. As for the safety, this crossover offers auto emergency braking and blind spot monitoring systems.
Engine Choices
The forthcoming 2021 Mazda CX-5 will continue to ride on a 2.5-liter engine. This unit is standard on all trim levels. If you want an optional powertrain, a 2.2-liter diesel got you covered. It produces 170 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque.
As for the standard gasoline engine, it generates 187 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. In China, CX-5 borrows a drivetrain from Mazda CX-9. This 2.5-liter turbo-four output will deliver 250 horses and 310 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, you can expect for this engine to power new Signature trim level.
2021 Mazda CX-5 Price and Release Date
The approaching 2021 Mazda CX will cost as its predecessor. Starting price for the base trim level is $26,500. Touring trim level will cost around $28,500 and Grand Touring $34,000. Newest Signature model will surely cost over $40,000. New CX-5 will go on sale in late 2020s and it will rival Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
