The redesigned 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is expected to arrive next year. Since the current Range Rover Sport launched in 2014, this model has become one of the most selling Land Rover`s vehicle. Thankfully, the new spy shots of prototypes are available and the Range Rover Sport is in the development stage. Unfortunately, the caught prototype is still heavily camouflaged, but we’re managed to see some changes.
First of all, the upcoming model looks refreshed and we also expect to see some upgrades inside as well. In the same segment, there are plenty of stiff competition, and the closest ones are BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE.
2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Redesign
Once again, some of the photographers have spotted and caught the new Range Rover Sport undergoing road testing ahead of its debut. Unfortunately, the prototype is heavily camouflaged, but we managed to see some upgrades here and there. In addition, don’t expect the styling changes to be evolutionary, because the Land Rover will only introduce mild changes.
First of all, we noticed new fitted narrower headlights and fresh horizontal rear lights. Thanks to that, the upcoming Range Rover Sport has a little Velar vibe. It’s definitively more aggressive than the regular variant. Behind, there is a larger tailgate spoiler and a more sculpted body. On the proportion side, the new Range Rover Sport features the same wheelbase as the current model with shorter overhangs.
Cabin Upgrades
As for the interior, the new Range Rover will be more modern with a fully digital gauge cluster, as per the latest spy shots. Also, as the regular model, we also expect sporty one to offer the same spacious cabin. In general, there is room inside to fit seven passengers with an optional third row.
Besides, we can also expect the manufacturer to add a larger touchscreen, more luxurious materials, and redesigned switchgear. Of course, depending on trim level, the design and equipment list will vary.
2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Powertrain Specs
As mentioned, the new 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport rides on the new Land Rover’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture platform that supports mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric drivetrains. Considering that, we expect the new Range Rover Sport to be available with a variety of electrification options.
As part of a deal with the BMW company, the new model could replace the current supercharged V8 with a new twin-turbo V8. Also, many believe that the all-electric variant could use the same electric powertrain as the BMW iX model.
Release Date and Price
The new 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport prototype has been recently spied testing, unfortunately, heavily camouflaged. As we noticed, the next generation will be more attractive and we should expect more uniqueness inside as well. Reportedly, the regular SUV is expected to debut later this year, so its Sport sibling will most likely arrive in 2022.
Pricing is not yet available, but many speculate that it will be significantly more. The current model that comes with a 355-horsepower 6-cylinder engine starts at $70,850. However, the most expensive is the super-fast SVR Carbon Edition, costing around $131,000.
