One of the best selling SUVs in United States Cadillac Escalade is getting some important improvements. The current model is redesigned this year, but it lacks for some updates. However, consider that, the manufacturer decided to release the new 2022 Cadillac Escalade and patch it as it deserved.
Basically, most of the updates will happen inside. In fact, the upcoming three-row SUV is getting more quality materials and some safety tweaks. Besides, everything else will mostly remain unchanged.
2022 Cadillac Escalade Looks Massive
The exterior design of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade will pretty remain the same. This model looks massive, and we like its new look. Overall, the manufacturer redesigned it and added a vertical front lighting system, horizontal LED headlights, and tall 3-dimensional taillights.
It also added a rear spoiler that hides the rear windshield wiper, providing more better aerodynamics. However, some things remain, and Cadillac used 22-inch alloy wheels, giving this SUV a stylish design. Escalade Sport also available, and this model hosts a black mesh grille and plenty of other black accents.
Cabin Improvements
From what we heard, the manufacturer will update the cabin with better materials. According to various reports by owners, the Cadillac Escalade host some cheap plastic that cracks. Considering that, Cadillac will release an updated model. Firstly, the cabin of the new 2022 Cadillac Escalade will be better with more quality materials, affecting excellent comfort.
Also, rear adults can now fit comfortably in the third row, because Cadillac added ten extra inches of legroom. Space behind the third row is now 25.5 cubic feet, and can be increased by folding the third row by 63 cubic feet of cargo room. Cadillac Escalade ESV model is even more longer, providing more space for passengers and gear. Base Escalades comes with leatherette seating, 3-zone climate control, a navigation system, and it features a beautiful new OLED screen providing crisp resolution. The biggest news is the Super Cruise system that is almost fully autonomous. Thanks to this system, Escalade can by self to steer, accelerate, and slow as required by the road and conditions.
Two Powertrain Options
As you probably know, two engines are available in the current Cadillac Escalade. The base model comes with a familiar 6.2-liter V8 direct-injected aluminum-block engine capable making of 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is proven to an excellent fuel economy thanks to automatic cylinder deactivation at light loads. It`s rated city/highway 14/20 mpg (2WD), 14/19 mpg (4WD), 14/20 mpg (ESV 2WD), and 14/19 mpg (ESV 4WD).
The next optional engine is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6, introduced for the first time in the current model. This engine delivers an output of 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. EPA fuel economy of this model is not yet rated, but we assume the highway figure may get as high as 30 mpg. Both models will use a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
How Much Does a 2022 Cadillac Escalade Cost?
Expect a release date of 2022 Cadillac Escalade sometime next year. As we stated, the upcoming SUV will get some important updates. However, the price will probably remain the same, starting at $76,195 for the 2WD Luxury model. The most equipped trims are Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum. Both ones equipped with 4WD can break a barrier of $100,000.
