2023 Jeep Compass: Everything We Know So Far

After a big facelift in 2021, we expect the 2023 Jeep Compass to return largely unchanged next year. There are also many gossips that it will receive a couple of exteriors and interior upgrades, which should make it more competitive in the crowded segment. As before, the new one will continue to use the same powertrain that consists of a 2.4-liter inline-4, producing 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque.

FWD system remains standard on Sport and Latitude models, while AWD configuration is optional. However, many believe that a new hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain may be added as well.

2023 Jeep Compass Redesign

On the cosmetic front, the 2023 Jeep Compass largely remains the same as its predecessor. Of course, there will be some mild refreshments to keep up with other rivals. As you probably know, Jeep tweaked the Compass exterior last year, and its styling is reminiscent of the bigger Grand Cherokee.

It’s recognized by a famous signature 7-slat grille and very nicely shaped headlights. The size of the Jeep Compass makes it bigger than the Jeep Renegade and smaller than the Jeep Cherokee. Thanks to that, it’s very maneuverable for a crossover.

Interior Upgrades

The cabin of the 2023 Jeep Compass will be stylish and comfortable. This SUV received a significant update last year, so don’t expect anything revolutionary. The interior is pretty dated thanks to a sleek and modern dash, and new infotainment systems.

As standard, the manufacturer offers an 8.4-inch screen, which is one of the best in this class. However, if this is too small for you, Jeep is also offering an upgradable 10.1-inch unit. Like before, the seats are very supportive and comfortable. This small SUV still has a cargo space of 27 cubic feet, which can be doubled to 60 cubic feet with the seats folded down.

2023 Jeep Compass Engine Specs

Like the outgoing model, the new 2023 Jeep Compass will probably use the same solo engine. This model deploys a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine that delivers 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. As you can see, the engine is pretty mediocre for this class. Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard in Sport and Latitude models, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is available as an option or standard in the higher trims.

It’s worth mentioning that the FWD models use a 6-speed automatic transmission, while on the other hand, the AWD models have a 9-speed automatic. In terms of towing, we don’t expect anything worth mentioning. This model is rated to tow 2,000 lbs for the model with the AWD system, while towing with the FWD is still not recommended at all.
