The renderings of the upcoming 2023 BMW X8 are available, and we must admit that the new flagship SUV looks hot. After a batch of spy shots, we finally got some renderings. According to them, the X8 looks much more aggressive than the X7 version. The difference is enormous, and the forthcoming model features massive grilles, gaping intakes, and a completely different rear end.
At this point, we are not sure what would power the X8, but from some rumors, it will be the manufacturer’s most powerful model, especially the X8 M variant. Reportedly, the X8 M should deliver at least 750 hp, while the regular model could pass 600 horses.
2023 BMW X8 First Look
The 2023 BMW X8 is the upcoming SUV positioned above the X7. In general, this model is featuring more attractive styling. A prototype of the new flagship crossover has been spotted, and some of the renderings of the BMW X8 M just came out.
The first impressions are positive, and we noticed a split headlight design that has also been present on the recently introduced BMW 7-Series. The new X8 M also features an eye-catching black kidney grille, including large intakes and an aggressive bumper. Overall, the design is one of the most aggressive, compromised by the hood with sharp creases and angles. The rear-end is also attractive, featuring a pair of taillights with striking LED graphics and a sporty quad exhaust system.
Cabin Rumors
At this point, the manufacturer didn’t reveal any information regarding the interior of the new model. Considering its proportions, the forthcoming 2023 BMW X8 will have two rows, offering enough room for four or five passengers. The four-seat version is likely to be the more luxurious, and it will offer much more comfort, with airline-style reclining rear seating.
Besides, we also expect much more technology than we saw on the X7 model. From many speculations, it seems the BMW X8 will come with dual 12.3-inch displays that will be powered by the BMW’s latest iDrive infotainment system.
2023 BMW X8 Engine Specs
The new 2023 BMW X8, as we said, will sit on the same BMW’s CLAR modular platform as the X7 model. However, from the information we got, the X8 regular model should provide at least 600 horses. If you didn’t know, the latest BMW X5 M produces the same output, delivering excellent performance.
However, the manufacturer will also introduce a high-performance X8 M with a much more potent engine. This model should provide at least 750 horses with an electrified V8 engine using an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date and Price
Underpinning the same BMW’s CLAR modular platform as the X7, the new 2023 BMW X8 will be more massive. As mentioned, some spy shots and renderings are available, and it seems the X8 will adopt many cues from the X4 and X6 models. The newcomer will probably arrive at some point next year as the 2023 model.
Besides this variant, the manufacturer will also redesign X2, X4, X6, and X7 models. When released, the new X8 will compete with models like the Audi Q8, Range Rover Sport, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC. Pricing is not yet available, but it should be revealed in the coming months.
