According to reports, the manufacturer will make the new 2022 Cadillac XT5 more competitive by adding a new Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system and more features. Still, the forthcoming SUV will rely on the previous generation, meaning it should come without a significant change regarding its outside look.
The XT5 mid-size model joined the Cadillac’s lineup in 2018 and has received a sprinkling of equipment updates since then. Moreover, the XT5 could be fully redesigned from much available information within the next two years. Cadillac’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder continues to power the base model, while the line-topping Sport version comes exclusively with the V6 engine.

At the moment, there is no official Cadillac’s statement of the XT5 engine. More than likely, the manufacturer will use the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the base engine. Overall, this engine is still potent, producing 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The current model with the same engine has a fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 combined. However, a more powerful V6 engine comes exclusively with the line-topping Sport version. This model powers a mighty V6 powertrain that provides 310 hp and 271lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is optional, and all models use a nine-speed automatic transmission standardly.
Release Date and Price
We expect the new redesigned 2022 Cadillac XT5 SUV to arrive at dealers sometime this year, probably at the end. Besides more standard features, this model keeps the same attractive styling as its predecessor.
So, expect pricing to be similar to the outgoing model, which goes from $44,990 to $56,090. Like before, XT5 will try to face competitors such as the Lincoln Nautilus, Volvo XC60, and Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV.
