2022 Audi Q9 Prototype Spotted Testing Wearing Heavy Camo

The all-new 2022 Audi Q9 was spotted testing a few days ago, wearing a heavy camo. As we can see, the new flagship SUV is on the horizon, and it could be the answer to the equally massive BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS models.

We can expect the latest model to offer advanced technology, high-quality materials, and powerful engines. Generally, considering that the Q9 shares many components with the Audi Q7, Q8, and Porsche Cayenne, expect to find also similar engines under the Q9. According to many reports, the all-new SUV could be revealed towards the end of this year or early 2022.

2022 Audi Q9 Exterior

A prototype of the upcoming flagship has been finally spotted testing after so much gossips about it. At first glance, the new 2022 Audi Q9 looks much bigger than its siblings Q7 and Q8. Also, it features finer design details that include a massive grille and easy-to-spot boxy LED taillights at the back. However, the prototype that is caught testing is wearing a heavy camo, and it is hard to see what else is updated compared to its siblings.

The side profile reveals that Audi Q9 will feature big 23-inch wheels, just like we saw on the RSQ8 model. Boxy LED taillights are present on the back, and they are literarily noticeable through the heavy camouflage.

What Can We Expect Inside?

Inside, the new 2022 Audi Q9 is likely to have a similar tech-filled cabin as the popular Q8. At this point, there are no available spy photos inside of this SUV. Moreover, we can expect some images to be on the surface very soon. Generally, because this will be Audi’s flagship model, it should be packed with high-quality materials and all sorts of screens. Also, the layout could be the same as in the Q7, so expect as well a seven-seat configuration.

Audi will most likely use a massive infotainment system, leather seating surfaces, tri-zone automatic climate control, navigation, panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration, heated front seats, front/rear parking sensors, and keyless entry/ignition, and the latest Audi’s Virtual Cockpit. On top of that, there should be more standard safety features than in the Q8. So, we are assuming standard features like forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring.

2022 Audi Q9 Engine Specs

At this point, there are no available figures regarding the engine of the new 2022 Audi Q9. Moreover, because it uses many Audi Q7, Q8, and Porsche Cayenne components, expect to find similar engines. The first candidates are 3.0-liter petrol or diesel V6, while high-spec cars SQ9 or RS Q9 versions could get a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine.

Generally, Audi should also offers at least one plug-in hybrid system. Most likely that it will use the same engine as the Porsche Cayenne hybrid. However, don’t expect an all-electric variant anytime soon. If you’re after an electric SUV, you can check out the new Audi e-Tron model.

Release Date and Price

The all-new 2022 Audi Q9 should be the next Audie’s flagship model. That means we can expect only quality materials and technology. Audi recently stated that Q9 could be revealed towards the end of this year or early 2022.

It’ll be for sure one of the most expensive Audi SUVs on sale, so don’t be surprised if you see a figure greater than $100k. The main rivals of the upcoming Q9 are BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS.
