The new 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback has been revealed, and we must admit, it looks attractive. This sporty version is based on the Q5 model, and it shares pretty the same engines with it. However, unlike the regular Q5, the Sportback gets standard S-line exterior detailing.
According to the manufacturer, Audi Q5 Sportback will go on sale in the first half of 2021. Consider that it provides more features and better styling, it would cost a few thousand dollars more than the standard Q5. From the latest speculations, expect Sportback SUV to be a bit above the $44,000.
2022 Audi Q5 Sportback Design
As we mentioned, the upcoming 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback is based on the Q5 model and is pretty much the same crossover. Of course, it hosts some changes and equipment differences. Unsurprisingly, we first noticed that the Q5 and Sportback are pretty much identical from the nose to A-pillars. However, dimensionally, Q5 Sportback is 0.3 inches longer than the regular version, and it provides better aerodynamic.
Overall, Sportback comes with a more aggressive front fascia thanks to a new grille and LED headlights that are in much better shape. On the back, the manufacturer also makes some changes adding a unique bumper and latest Audis to receive OLED taillights.
Premium Cabin
The interior design of the 2022 Audi Sportback is generally carry-over from the previous, standard Q5. However, consider the Sportback shape cargo space will be reduced. With the rear seats up, the new model provides 18 cubic feet of cargo space, much less than the regular model with 25.1 cubic feet. That’s a significant drop and is in line with Audi Q3. Interestingly, folding seats down, cargo space opens 52.3 cubic feet, which is not far from the standard model and 53.1 cubic feet. Some changes happen in the techs department, and the new Sportback now hosts a 10.1-inch touch- infotainment screen and the new Audi operating system.
As you can see, the cabin is unique, and it provides maximum comfort. It also gets configurable ambient lighting, and it can be equipped optionally with a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument panel, too.
2022 Audi Q5 Sportback Powertrain Specs
Like the base Q5, the new Sportback will be powered by the same engines. The first offer is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with mild-hybrid assistance capable of producing 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. This model comes with seven-speed DCT automatic and all-wheel-drive system as standard.
The next is a more powerful SQ5 version that consists of a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 making 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This model also comes standard with all-wheel-drive, but unlike the first one, it uses an eight-speed traditional automatic.
