The all-new 2021 Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid model is confirmed for the next year. According to the latest news, this model will be called Prime, and it will be the first-ever built plug-in hybrid SUV from Toyota.

The Japanese manufacturer will use the same powertrain as on the hybrid one. However, new Prime adds a battery and electric motor. Thanks to this combination, the new plug-in hybrid model will go 39 miles on electricity. Moreover, the output will be higher than on the hybrid model, and from some tests, it delivers 302 horses. The high capacity battery is mounted beneath the floor, resulting in no lost cargo space that is still 37.6 cubic feet.
