The famous Toyota manufacturer expanded its line of SUVs and pickups with the new trim levels Trail and Nightshade. The upcoming 2021 Toyota 4Runner Trail is confirmed and we have some exclusive photos. According to the manufacturer, the latest edition 4Runner is coming to the markets this year, precisely in summer.

The new model is attractive and is favorite among campers because it comes with a Yakima LoadWarrior rooftop cargo basket. As you may have already known, Trail Edition is based on the SR5 trim level. However, Trail adds more equipment and some improvements. For instance, it adds TRD off-road wheels, numerous badging, and much more as the standard equipment.

The recently introduced 2021 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition is an incredibly stylish SUV. Overall, Trail Edition is based on the SR5 trim, and the manufacturer limited this edition to only 4,000 units. The new model is geared up with more off-road features than the base model. However, like the regular model, the Trail version rolls on the same school body-on-frame construction. For a start, the shape and dimensions of the Trail model will remain the same as on the base one. The front is unique and this model hosts fresh darkened grille and boomerang-shaped headlights. Under the hood is a reliable 4.0-liter V6 that is available with a standard rear-wheel-drive or optional all-wheel-drive. This engine is potent, and it produces 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque through a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

The regular SUV with this unit provides 17 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. So, we can assume the same numbers on the Trail Edition. Moreover, towing capacity is also the same and this model is capable of towing up to 5000 pounds.

Price and Release Date

The all-new 2021 Toyota 4Runner Trail is the latest edition that will look more sporty than the rest of trims, except TRD Pro. Pricing hasn’t been set yet. However, according to some speculations, the upcoming model will cost around $45,000.

The base 2021 Toyota 4Runner comes with the same starting price as before $36,000. Moreover, choosing the range-topping TRD Pro, the price will jump to 50,000. Toyota’s latest 4Runner Trail Edition will arrive this Summer, at the same time as the Highlander XSE model.
