The next-generation 2021 Ford EcoSport is getting additional refreshments and more significant proportions. According to a recent report emerged, the new model will ride on the same platform as the small Ka and Figo models. However, thanks to some modifications, primarily to the extended platform, the upcoming EcoSport will be larger in size and it will compete in a segment above.
The EcoSport will continue to be a compact crossover that looks attractive and modern. On top of that, it`s available with gasoline and diesel engines.
2021 Ford EcoSport Borrows Some of Mustang Styling Cues
From the first photos, the upcoming 2021 Ford EcoSport looks modern and refreshed. As we just mentioned, the new generation will ride on the same platform that is used on the Ka and Figo models. Moreover, this platform will be extended and EcoSport will grow in size. Thanks to that, we can even expect more space inside. Basically, the new model comes with the same sloped roof as before, and because of that, many think that it is smaller than the rest of the crossovers in the same category.
The shape of this crossover remains the same as before and the new model borrows some of Ford Mustang styling cues. The front fascia looks bolder and EcoSport features sports wider grille and new LED headlights. EcoSport sides definitely look better thanks to the new 16-inch painted wheels. On the back, we can see mustang inspired LED taillights and model trademark in the middle.
Interior Improvements
As for the interior, the new 2021 Ford EcoSport will introduce numerous upgrades. Blue Oval will definitively make a cabin more modernize. Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system will be better thanks to the new update, and EcoSport will get more safety inside.
With that, we mean that adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and lane-keep assist will be standard. On top of that, this small crossover provides a higher level of comfort and more tech this time. The standard package is fantastic and it includes a large 8-inch touch screen that is easy to view and operate, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus, a rearview camera, power windows, power locks, and more.
Optionally, buyers can get voice-activated navigation, ambient lighting, 110-volt outlet, keyless entry pad, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system.
Engine Options
The engine lineup of the newest 2021 Ford EcoSport will consist of a few powertrains. The base model will come with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost that produces 123 horses. This engine is specially made for US soil.
As for Europe, there will be two options. The first one is 2.0-liter gasoline that delivers 166 hp and 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engines with 120 horsepower. All engines are available with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. At the latest conference, Blue Oval said that crossover might also get electric powertrain or even a hybrid version in the near future. However, for now, engines above are official.
2021 Ford EcoSport Price and Release Date
The all-new 2021 Ford EcoSport is an attractive compact crossover that will be facelifted. The upcoming model will provide better design and the manufacturer will introduce more features and security. Thanks to that, the price of this model will start higher than before. According to the latest reports, the base trim level will starts at $23,000, while the upper trims can kiss $30,000.
The release date will definitely happen this year and most reports suggesting the last quarter. Models that are the main competitors of this crossover are Hyundai Creta and Buick Encore.
