Most of our readers probably didn’t know that Peugeot offers a crossover SUV model. Peugeot 5008 was once a seven-seat MPV. However, recently, it became a three-row crossover. The 2020 Peugeot 5008 will look to rival models such as Skoda Kodiaq, Renault Scenic, and Nissan X-Trail.

This crossover comes with crossover’s robustness and it delivers a good performance. New 2020 model will get some sort of upgrades. More interior space, more standard features and possibly a new engine. The design looks attractive but it won’t be changed significantly for 2020.

New larger wheels are in the offer and the rear end will stay intact. However, this crossover SUV looks robust and very attractive. The character is the same as before, it just looks slightly more modern.

Peugeot newest crossover SUV will offer a beautiful palette of exterior colors. There will be up to eight available choices. Bianca White is the only standard color. If you want some other exterior paint, you have to pay additional money.

Emerald, Nimbus Grey, Cumulus Grey, Amazonite Grey, Egyptian Blue, and Nera Black are all optional. The French automaker will offer one exclusive color and it is a Pearlescent White.

Trim levels and Peugeot 5008 GT

The upcoming 2020 Peugeot 5008 is available in five trim levels. Base Active model comes with the character and it looks attractive and stylish. However, this model does not offer premium amenities as standard. Safety package comes as standard and the base trim level will get new rear parking sensors. Second trim is called Allure.

This model offers a more striking design and it offers more standard features. Safety pack plus is standard and it offers amenities such as Voice Recognition and 3D Navigation. Peugeot 5008 GT Line comes with sportier styling and better aerodynamics. It looks very upscale and it offers features such as LED headlights, Black Diamond Roof and Smartphone charging plate.

If you want even more sportiness, GT Line Premium is the trim level for you. It comes with more luxury and it looks very premium. The panoramic glass roof, new 19-inch alloy wheels, and smart electric tailgate are all available. On top of the trim levels, Peugeot 5008 GT has no real competition. Everything we mentioned is available and a lot more. More safety equipment, massaging seats and premium 19-inch wheels are in the offer. Four Engines Available

New 5008 model will offer the same engine lineup as the smaller 3008 models. That includes two gasoline engine and two diesel options. The customers can choose between a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and the 8-speed automatic transmissions. For that reason, the 2020 Peugeot 5008 is a very customizable crossover SUV.

Gasoline engines are 1.2 and 1.6-liter units. Both units are producing 131 hp on the base trim level. However, the same units on upper trim levels are providing up to 170 horses. Diesel variants on upper trims such as GT can crank out 180 horsepower. Just like the 3008 model, the 5008 Peugeot is also available with an all-wheel-drive system.

Price and Release Date

This 7-seat 5-doors crossover SUV will cost around $30,000. The range-topping GT model is priced at $46,000. The 2020 Peugeot 5008 will hit the dealerships in September 2019. Competition is strong and the biggest rivals are Skoda Kodiaq, Renault Scenic, and Nissan X-Trail.
