New 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will offer two drivetrain options. A 2.0-liter diesel unit will be new and it will deliver up to 182 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. That is more than the current output and new engine will comply with the latest emission norms. This unit comes with a both manual and automatic gearbox and it offers an optional 4WD setup.

A petrol variant is a 2.0-liter unit that returns 145 HP and 235 lb-ft of torque. The petrol engine will also deliver the same transmission choices as the diesel unit.
