Based on new spy shots and leaked information, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV will debut sometime next year using the new electric system. The performance SUV features an attractive design and rides on a new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) modular platform. In case you didn’t know, this platform was developed by Porsche in partnership with Audi.
So, expect the same versions of the platform to underpin many upcoming models across the Volkswagen Group. It is still unclear how many horses this model will be able to make. Porsche confirmed that the Macan will support a 350-kilowatt charge, providing 60 miles in four minutes and close to 250 miles in less than 20 minutes.
What’s New?
According to the first spy shots, the forthcoming 2024 Porsche Macan EV features some upgrades compared to the regular one. First of all, it comes with a new front fascia including a small closed grille and the same shaped headlights with new graphics.
We also noticed a small rear spoiler, that should extend from the tailgate at speeds of more than 30 mph. Porsche is improving, particularly in areas of aerodynamics, to ensure the electric Macan is the sportiest model in the segment.
2024 Porsche Macan EV Interior
We don’t think that the interior will significantly change compared to the basic Macan. Of course, the manufacturer will add more quality materials and eventually more technologies to separate this model from the rest. The current Porsche Macan is one of the most luxurious SUVs. The interior of this SUV is comfortable, featuring a standard 10.9-inch infotainment system.
On top of that, it offers standard Apple CarPlay, and navigation, and we expect Android Auto to be part of this package. Standard safety tech features are also updated and include front and rear parking sensors and a lane-departure warning.
2024 Porsche Macan EV Motor Specs, Battery, Range
The 2024 Porsche Macan EV will share the same platform as other models across the Volkswagen Group. Porsche said that the Macan EV will support 350-kilowatt charging, offering 60 miles in four minutes or close to 250 miles in less than 20 minutes. The automaker has also demonstrated a more powerful 450-kW charging station, where 60 miles could be offered in just three minutes of charging.
Alongside the electric model, the manufacturer also plans to continue selling the gas-powered Macan for about a few years. Currently, there are three different setups. The base is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 making 261 horsepower. Upgrading to the S model, you’ll get a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 producing 375 horsepower. Finally, the strongest is a 434-horsepower variant that powers the GTS model.
How Much Will the New 2024 Porsche Macan EV Cost?
At the moment, we think that only the electric version will be on sale. However, the manufacturer surprised us with information that it will continue to offer the same gasoline engines for at least a couple of years. The automaker last year revealed a plan that by 2030 more than 80% of its sales would be EVs.
Production of the new electric Macan will start next year in Porsche’s plant in Leipzig, Germany. The current Macan has a starting price of $54,900, while the Macan S model starts at $65,400. On the other hand, a performance Macan GTS model is $79,900. So, expect the new EV model to pass the GTS price.
