The new 2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV prototype has been caught undergoing testing without any camouflage, and we can expect its debut to happen sometime next year. Judging by the first spy shots, the forthcoming SUV looks refreshed and it should share many cues with the Porsche. With that, we mean it could use the same hybrid system as the Cayenne Turbo SE.
More specifically, this model comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 mated with an electric motor. It also has a mighty 17.9kWh lithium-ion battery and a total system output of 808 hp (603Kw) of power. Compared to the current regular model, these outputs are higher by around 170 horses.
2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV Design
The design of the new 2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV will not significantly change compared to the regular model. Fortunately, the caught-testing Urus PHEV is not wearing any camouflage, which allows us to see everything. However, the prototype seems to use the current model’s body panels and the same standard five-spoke wheels.
The only visible changes compared to these two models are the addition of a charging port and a hybrid sticker on the windshield. Notably, the plug-in hybrid also uses the same quad exhaust pipes at the back as its sibling.
First Look Inside
Inside, the new 2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV will be more sporty, modern, and comfortable. This model is very spacious, allowing five passengers to sit comfortably with enough headroom and legroom. It offers up to 22 cubic feet in its cargo area, but that number drops by 2 cubes with the optional rear bucket seats. It will also include plenty of faux-suede and carbon-fiber trim, while the infotainment system should be updated, just like other technology.
So far, every Urus has come standard with a fully digital gauge cluster, two touchscreens integrated into the center stack and a slew of driver assistance features. As standard, you can count on adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and self-parking assist.
2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV Engine Specs
At this stage, it’s still unclear what will power the new Lamborghini Urus PHEV. However, some reports reveal it could share its plug-in hybrid powertrain with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
This model is powerful thanks to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that comes with an electric motor and a 17.9kWh lithium-ion battery. Combined, the total system outputs are 808 hp (603 kW). As we said, the new PHEV compared to the regular variant delivers around 170 horses, which is a significant increase.
2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV Price, Release Date
While many details remain scarce about the new 2024 Lamborghini Urus PHEV, we have gotten some information regarding its pricing and release date. Compared to the regular model which starts at $230,000, the PHEV model is expected to cost around 10 grand more, or $240,000.
Of course, by adding more options to the PHEV model, you can easily expect the price to go up to $250,000. As for the debut, the new SUV will go on sale in the second half of 2023. We’re also expecting to see, at the same time, a hotter EVO version as well.
