The 2024 GMC Terrain continues its journey with minor updates. In case you didn’t know, the manufacturer prepares the new-gen model, which should arrive in the 2025MY. This is a very reliable SUV, as it is present since 2009.
The compact SUV is a very good choice, as it is a practical model with a high level of comfort, pleasant ride, good safety ratings, and above-average fuel efficiency. The upgrades will be far from significant, but GMC should introduce a couple of tweaks, both in and out. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know.
GMC Terrain Interior Features
Since this is likely to be the last year of production for the generation, we don’t expect many changes. So base models should come standard with goodies like a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and other basic features. Optionally, there is Wi-Fi, a premium sound system, and much more.
Among the options, you can find goodies like an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a sunroof. Generally, GMC Terrain is a well-equipped model with a high level of comfort and a spacious cabin. Moreover, this model is full of driver-assistance aids, providing good safety ratings. Still, we only expect a couple of minor updates.
Exterior Facelift
Visually, the 2024 GMC Terrain will look like the outgoing model. This is not a bad thing, as this SUV looks very modern and upright. However, the new-gen Terrain is in the works, to this version will have a couple of minor tweaks. The E2 architecture remains, so the vehicle’s dimensions will be the same.
The front fascia has a more aggressive approach with unique headlights and a recognizable grille. Even the rear section is easy to recognize with familiar taillights. A new version could introduce a couple of new exterior paints, and probably new optional packages. Besides that, Terrain will not suffer cosmetic upgrades.
Engine Specs, Transmission
The engine of the 2024 GMC Terrain will also remain. It is a well-known and reliable 1.5-liter turbo-four gasoline engine. This unit recently gained an additional power boost, so, it now produces around 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. It isn’t much, but the Terrain SUV performs solid. The goal is to deliver improved fuel economy. Right now, this model achieves 24 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.
There is an optional 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. GMC will continue to offer a 9-speed automatic transmission. As for the towing capacity, Terrain SUV offers around 1,500 pounds, while the maximum towing capacity is rated at about 3,500 pounds As before, the FWD system will come as standard, and AWD setup will be optional.
2024 GMC Terrain Price and Release Date
The price of the forthcoming 2024 GMC Terrain will start at around $30,000, or slightly below that. The changes are truly minor, so the price should remain intact. The sales will begin later in 2023, while the next-gen Terrain will hit the roads next summer.
