The facelifted 2023 Volvo XC40 has been revealed ahead of its official launch. According to the manufacturer, the forthcoming model is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022. As we can see, the next-generation model will receive some mild changes including a redesigned front fascia with new daytime running light signatures, and the same fog lights housings as the XC40 Recharge.
Besides exterior changes, we expect the upcoming SUV to also receive a more attractive cabin filled with a plethora of technology and quality materials. As before, the entry-level model will use the same 184-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, while the more powerful should produce 248 horsepower and come standard with all-wheel drive.
2023 Volvo XC40 Design
We love every inch of the new 2023 Volvo XC40. Its styling is attractive, sleek and modern at the same time. As before, the design will change a bit depending on which trim you go with. For example, the R-Design trim offers the sportier look, while the Inscription trim comes with more luxurious aesthetic.
The next-generation model comes with a redesigned front fascia, a new daytime running light signatures, and similar fog lights housings as we saw on the XC40 Recharge. As for the size, the Volvo XC40 is pretty small. Indeed, it’s smaller than the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Lexus UX.
Cabin Refreshments
The famous Swedish manufacturer will also make some changes inside the 2023 Volvo XC40 model. The cabin is modern and spacious enough to accommodate five passengers. In general, the cabin is no less attractive than we saw on more expensive stablemates like the XC60 and XC90. Stepping into this SUV, you’ll first notice a restyled dashboard with an updated Volvo’s Sensus Connect infotainment system and 12.3-inch digital driver display.
As standard, the XC40 also comes with leather seating, heated front seats, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and two USB-C ports in the back. Safety is also better compared to the previous generation thanks to many features. The new XC40 includes a blind-spot information system with steering assist, cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping aid, a backup camera, and rear parking sensors.
