The new 2023 Subaru Ascent is about to receive a facelift that will bring a more modern grille design and revised lighting elements. On top of that, the interior is refreshed as well and the three-row SUV now comes standard with a large 11.6-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
We also heard that Subaru would make EyeSight driver-assistance tech richer this year, which includes a new automated evasive steering feature. Just like its predecessor, the forthcoming Ascent will come with the same engine. Under the hood is a 2.4-liter turbo flat-4 capable of producing 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Will the 2023 Subaru Ascent Be Redesigned?
Design for the 2023 Subaru Ascent is more attractive thanks to an updated appearance. The new SUV now comes with a larger grille, headlights that are reshaped, and the updated front bumper.
Subaru also reveals that they improved aerodynamics, which should result in better fuel economy. The rear is also redesigned, and we noticed new taillights that are now shaped like the letter C.
Interior Upgrades
The cabin of the 2023 Subaru Ascent is roomy and comfortable. Still, the third row is a bit tight but is ideal for small children. Interior design and quality are on a higher level, and you’ll find a softer touch material. Every Ascent comes with a vertically oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen that replaces the aging 6.5-inch and optional 8.0-inch displays.
The new interface also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The black-trimmed Onyx Edition is the best option if you’re looking for something unique. This model has green contrast stitching inside, standard panoramic sunroof, and more. We must also mention that the Ascent also comes with the improved driver assists. Subaru says it now can recognize cyclists and pedestrians sooner at low speed. Likewise, it comes as standard with a blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert also called Automatic Emergency Steering.
2023 Subaru Ascent Engine Specification
As we said, the 2023 Subaru Ascent will deploy the same powertrain from its predecessor. This means we can expect a potent 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-4 capable of making 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
The engine uses a CVT automatic transmission and 8-speed manual mode. According to Subaru, maximum towing of the new Ascent is 5,000 pounds. It is also worth noting that the new SUV also has standard all-wheel drive as well as trailer stability assist.
2023 Subaru Ascent Price, Release Date
The pricing for the 2023 Subaru Ascent will be reportedly slightly higher compared to the outgoing model. The base model starts at $33,295, which is around $1000 more. However, the mid-range Premium trim is $35,795 for the model with 8-passenger, or $37,255 if you go for a second-row captain’s chairs.
Finally, the range-topping Touring model, which includes all that you need, starts at $46,445. We expect the new SUV to debut in the coming months with a slightly revised exterior and interior. As before, the closest competitor in the family-friendly 3-row crossovers class is the Nissan Pathfinder.
