The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee first spy shots just came up, and the new SUV looks almost the same as the fourth generation. However, according to Jeep, the upcoming model should introduce some novelties, mainly inside the cabin. Alongside the two-row variant, we can also expect Jeep to include a much larger L model as well. The Grand Cherokee L comes as a three-row seater, offering enough room for seven passengers.
Both models will reportedly arrive sometime next, most likely in the fall. As you may know, the Grand Cherokee is in the same category where models such as the X5 and Genesis GV80 dominates. Here`s everything we know about this incredible SUV.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Exterior Refreshments
The new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a very attractive two-row SUV that is available with several different trim levels. From the first batch of spy shots, the upcoming model looks the same as its predecessor. However, as we heard, the manufacturer will be most likely to update this model a little bit across all trims. The regular model will mostly remain the same with a few updates here and there.
However, the Trackhawk is the most favorite and expensive option, featuring a more aggressive design than the other trims. This model is equipped with a big 18-inch off-road wheel/tire package, and it features a red tow hook, quad exhaust tailpipes, and a “Supercharged” script on the front doors. Alongside this famous trim, we should expect a Desert-Rated Gladiator Mojave model that will be more off-road. This variant will come with a higher clarence, new shocks, springs, and more.
Cabin Changes
On the inside, the new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee will offer the same comfortable cabin as the outgoing model. With two rows of seats, the regular Grand Cherokee has the ability to fit five passengers. However, the much bigger L variant is available as well if you need three rows of seats.
On the technology side, the new SUV will be equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen on the entry-level model. However, going up to upper trims, buyers can choose a much larger 10.1-inch screen. Besides much more room inside, the Grand Cherokee L also offers a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 10.0-inch head-up display.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Powertrain Specs
The new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee will most likely use the same powertrains as its predecessor. That means we can expect the same potent 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that makes 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. However, besides this engine, the manufacturer also offers a more powerful 5.7-liter V-8 optionally, delivering 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines with the Grand Cherokee L variant are delivering slightly less power.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT is our favorite option powered by a 6.4-liter V8 that generates 475 horsepower. Nevertheless, the Trackhawk model with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine provides 707-horsepower thanks. We expect Jeep also to introduce the new plug-in hybrid 4xe soon after.
Launch Date, Price
As mentioned, the new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee was caught testing a few days ago on the public road, wearing a lot of camos. Besides the regular model housing two-row seats, the manufacturer will also introduce the larger Grand Cherokee L variant with three rows of seats and enough room for seven passengers.
Unfortunately, pricing is still one big question, but we presume the new SUV should cost slightly higher. The current Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV has an (MSRP) of $32,350 for the base model, while the most favorite Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT starts from $70,640. The most expensive in the line is still the Trackhawk that costs $89,145 without options. Moreover, a fully loaded model can go up to $100,000.
