If you’re seeking a truck-ish appearance with a roomy interior, good fuel economy figures, and rugged appearance, then look no further than the 2023 GMC Terrain. This eye-catchy SUV will reportedly arrive next year, and it should receive plenty of improvements over the current generation.
Like the new Chevrolet Equinox, the upcoming GMC Terrain will come with the revised LED headlamps and taillamps, fresh wheel designs, updated upholstery, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. On top of that, a more rugged-looking AT4 model joins the lineup, featuring plenty of off-road equipment. Interestingly, the manufacturer will change the engine department, and the previously optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has been discontinued. So, that means a turbo 1.5-liter mill is the sole engine choice.
2023 GMC Terrain Exterior
The exterior design of the 2023 GMC Terrain is unique and is definitively the highlight. With mild refreshments for 2023, the GMC Terrain has a bolder and more premium appearance. However, its look can change quite a bit depending on trim level and equipment.
For example, the Terrain AT4 and Terrain Denali are the most favorite models, and both look pretty different than the rest of the models. The Terrain AT4 is an off-roader that includes Goodyear Sport Terrain tires, Traction Select System, hill descent control, and front steel skid plate. As for the Denali, this one has all features above plus premium suspension with enhanced shock control. Elevation Edition is available as well, and has black exterior accents and unique wheels.
Interior Looks Premium
Thanks to a spacious and accommodating interior, the 2023 GMC Terrain is one of the best SUVs in the class. This model offers a premium look and a mediocre mix of materials. Standard equipment on the GMC Terrain is excellent, and even the lower trims offers great package.
The standard kit includes a premium cloth interior, a Traction Select System, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, and fold-flat rear seats. Also, as standard, the manufacturer offers the Pro Safety suite with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and more. Denali model is the pinnacle on the offer featuring a more premium cabin, wireless device charging, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.
2023 GMC Terrain Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2023 GMC Terrain comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine can produce 170 horses and 203 lb-ft of torque using a nine-speed automatic. Like before, the manufacturer offers either front or all-wheel drive.
As we mentioned, the previously optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has been discontinued, leaving 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine as the only option. The current model with the same engine has 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. However, going with all-wheel drive number drops on the road to 28 mpg.
Release Date and Price
The release date of the new 2023 GMC Terrain is set for the next year, probably in the summertime. Besides exterior changes and some minor upgrades inside, the forthcoming model will continue its journey with a solo engine.
Like before, the manufacturer offers four trim levels on which SLE cost $29, 095, SLT $33,095, AT4 $35,195, and the most expensive Denali $37,795.
