2023 Genesis GV90 Is Officially on the Way

Reports out of Korea point that the new 2023 Genesis GV90 is on the way. As far as we know, the new SUV will be all-electric, and it will use many design cues from the recently revealed G90 sedan. Moreover, we are hoping that the first images of the prototype will appear in the coming month.

Unofficially, the forthcoming SUV could be related to the Hyundai and Kia large SUVs, and we expect it to ride on a stretched version of HMG’s E-GMP modular EV platform. If you didn’t know, this platform features an 800-volt electrical system, and it handles a large battery that is capable of delivering a range of up to 300 miles. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming GV90 model.

2023 Genesis GV90 Exterior and Interior Rumors

The design of the 2023 Genesis GV90 will be smooth, with crisp lines and thin lighting strips. We also expect this model to come with the similar grille as on the GV80 model but probably closed because of the electric setup that doesn’t need extra cooling and open grille.

Inside, the 2023 Genesis GV90 will be more modern than its sibling GV80 for sure. We expect the new SUV to share much of the design inside with the G90 model. So, we presume fine Nappa leather seating surfaces with quilted stitching, real wood trim, and an analog clock in the dashboard. Comfort should be on a high level and with three rows of seats, the GV90 will be able to fit seven passengers. As for the infotainment system, the upcoming SUV will probably include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, voice recognition, satellite radio, Nappa leather seating surfaces, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated steering wheel, and so on.

Driver assistance features should also be similar to the ones we saw on the G90, so expect at least a head-up display, 360-degree camera system with a zoom in/out function, and navigation-based smart cruise control.

Thanks to that platform, the Kia Concept EV9 features an 800-volt electrical system and with a large battery, it provides a range of up to 300 miles.

According to Kia, with a 350-kilowatt charger, you can charge the battery from 10-80% in less than 30 minutes.

2023 Genesis GV90 Release Date, Price

The 2023 Genesis GV90 is an SUV that will probably use the same electric setup as the Kia Concept EV9. From the latest news, the GV90 will also be related to the G90 sedan, and it will use a design language from the GV80 model.

At this point, the manufacturer didn’t reveal any information regarding the release date and price. However, we expect this model to appear sometime next year, probably in fall. When released, the Genesis GV90 will not be the only option in the full-size SUV segment. Currently, Cadillac is working on an electric Escalade, and Mercedes-Benz on the EQA SUV.
