One of the largest SUVs on the market is definitively the Ford Expedition. The new 2023 Ford Expedition and Expedition Max models are confirmed, and we can expect both to debut in the second half of the following year. In fact, spy shots are available, and this model looks more massive than before.
Moreover, the manufacturer will make some changes and expect it to receive a mid-cycle refresh. In the same segment are many models, but no one can beat this handsome SUV. In general, Ford Expedition can easily rival Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Sequoia. This model is powered by a potent twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, delivering two different outputs.
2023 Ford Expedition Facelift
The new 2023 Ford Expedition and Expedition Max are both massive SUVs ideal for large families. However, there are some differences between them. First of all, the Expedition Max is more significant by almost 12 inches. It comes with an extended wheelbase, which provides you additional cargo storage. Dimensionally, the regular SUV measures 210 in. length, while Expedition Max is much larger with 221.9 in. Generally speaking, both models are massive, and you must search for one parking spot more to park those beasts.
On the other hand, both models share the same overall profile and lighting units from the famous Ford Explorer. In our opinion, the Platinum trim is the best option if you are looking for a non-traditional look. This variant includes a massive grille, more chrome, and plenty of additional cues.
Class-Leading Interior
Inside, the 2023 Ford Expedition is the king in the class in terms of space. Reportedly, the upcoming SUV will get major interior upgrades. We should expect much better comfort and materials. Moreover, highlight this year is definitively a new massive touchscreen placed in the center of the dash.
Thanks to spy shots, we managed to see almost the same 15.5 inches of infotainment as we saw on the Mustang Mach-E electric. Also, the new noticeable digital instrument cluster is present as well, and we believe that the next model will be more driver-focused.
2023 Ford Expedition Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2023 Ford Expedition will reportedly use the same engine as before. This model is powered by a potent twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, producing 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. However, if you decide to go for the Platinum models, this engine will deliver 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque with the same powertrain. Rear-wheel drive will come standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.
Like the Ford F-150, the new Expedition is paired with the same 10-speed automatic transmission and terrain-response function. Besides this engine, we also expect Blue Oval to offer at least one hybrid powertrain.
Release Date, Price
The new 2023 Ford Expedition will reportedly hit stores in the summer of next year. As we mentioned, the upcoming SUV will look more attractive, and it should offer a more comfortable cabin. According to many reports, the manufacturer will add more equipment through all trims.
Considering all updates and changes, we can expect the new model to cost slightly more than before. The current model costs around $50,000 with the basics set up. Interestingly, in the same pricing line are models like Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban.
