The new 2023 Acura RDX is about to arrive with some tweaks here and there. According to the latest spy shots, the upcoming SUV will introduce more luxury and a better look than before. Interestingly, as we first noticed, the RDX will share exterior design elements with the MDX model. It features the same textured grille and broader air intake in the front.
Also, the new rectangular exhaust tips are present, and you can change it by choosing the sporty A-Spec, which gets round gloss-black tips. As for the engine, the upcoming RDX under the hood remains unchanged. So, we expect to see the same 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Acura RDX Design Changes and Colors
For 2023, the manufacturer will make some revisions. First of all, the new 2023 Acura RDX looks a year much closer to the MDX model. It comes with the same attractive grille and broader air intake in the front. As we mentioned, the manufacturer also added new rectangular exhaust tips, which can be more sporty with round gloss-black choosing the sporty A-Spec model. Wheel sizes go up depending on trims, and it will range from 19-inch 10-spokes as standard, while the RDX A-Spec is offering 20-inch designs.
Acura also indicated that more sporty features we can expect from the Type S variant, which is also in the works. New colors will also be introduced, including Liquid Carbon Metallic. In addition, models equipped with the Technology and Advance packages will come on Phantom Violet Pearl paint, while the limited-edition PMC edition will be available in flashy bright metallic Long Beach Blue Pearl.
More Modern Cabin
Unlike the previous generation, the new one should impress us more with its interior. However, like before, we expect the same seating layout and mix of materials and colors. Aluminum trim comes standard on all models, while the Advance package includes open-pore wood and Milano leather.
More tech is available as standard, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety tech is also better, and according to Acura, you’ll get as standard equipment blind-spot monitoring and a lane-change assist. Of course, you can count on more optional amenities as well.
2023 Acura RDX Engine Specs
In the engine department, the forthcoming 2023 Acura RDX will keep the same potent engine. This SUV comes exclusively with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, which is good for 272 hp. The engine uses a smooth 10-speed automatic and drives the front wheels or all four.
Another possibility is a hybrid powertrain that uses a three-motor setup. As you probably know, a similar setup is available on the RLX flagship sedan. However, Acura is still quiet on the matter.
