Regarding the engine of the next 2022 Peugeot 3008 model, the manufacturer didn’t say anything official. From plenty of rumors, most likely that this coupe SUV will keep the same PureTech 1.2 liter PSA three-cylinder petrol engine.
However, because 3008 model sits on a new EMP2 V4 platform, we can also expect Peugeot to maintain the plug-in hybrid powertrain or even all-electric model. Eider way, the manufacturer, will offer a vast range of engines. PSA launched its plans for relocation and electrification that will impact future Peugeot vehicle like 308, 3008, and 508 models.
The current model uses a choice of turbo petrol 1.2-liter that makes 128 hp and 1.6-liter producing 178 hp. Also, two turbo diesel units are available including 1.5-litre delivering 128 hp and 2.0-liter that makes 178 hp. The last one 3008 GT Hybrid4 provides the output of amazing 296 hp. The smaller engines use a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the other ones come exclusively mated to a slick eight-speed automatic.
