The all-new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is confirmed and we have some new images of how this model will look like. If you didn’t know, this small crossover is an all-electric and is based on the famous Bolt EV model. However, the forthcoming Bolt EUV is longer and it should attract customers with its sleeker and sexier styling.
In terms of design, the latest Chevrolet design language is implemented to the Bolt EUV crossover and customers will get refreshed styling. This model is lying down on the BEV2 architecture, also used on the EV version. Besides, this platform is stretched 3 inches between the wheels that will result in, more interior space.
2022 Chevy Colt EUV Hosts New Design Language
The first model that will wear a new design language from Chevy is the upcoming EUV model (an acronym for “Electric Utility Vehicle). This model will use the same Bolt’s BEV2 architecture as the regular model with some modifications.
The platform will be bigger and the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV will look more modern and stylish. At first glance, we can see numerous improvements. Front of this crossover is bolder and it hosts a new grille and tiny LED headlights. Fog lights are also present and they are almost identical shapes as the headlights.
The side profile is refreshed and we can see sharper lines and the new 17-inch alloy wheels. Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn’t reveal any images on the back. Likely, we can expect almost the same design as on the front. That means taillights will be slimmer and some new lines can be expected.
More Roomy Cabin
The new 2022 Chevy EUV is the crossover that is lying down on the same platform as the EV model. However, the Bolt EUV platform is bigger by 3 inches between the wheels and thanks to that interior is 5 to 6 inches roomier than on the regular platform.
Like the Bolt EV model, the new EUV is the crossover that will host two rows of seats and a roomy cabin. There is a room inside for five passengers and the longer wheelbase will make more space for a larger battery. As you may know, the EV model uses a 66-kW-hr pack, which is good for a range of 259 miles.
The Bolt EUV will get a revamped interior that promised more quality materials. Unlike the regular Bolt EV, the latest Bolt EUV will get a better seat, an upgraded infotainment system, and a push-button gear selector. Optionally, there will be plenty of features and one can get a sunroof, highly advanced cruise control system, and super cruise system exclusive on Cadillac models.
2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Powertrain
As we mentioned, the upcoming 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV will be underpinning the same GM’s BEV2 platform as the Bolt EV. That means that we can expect similar battery and range. The last Bolt EV range provides a fantastic range of 259-miles thanks to the 66-kW battery pack. The Bolt EV also uses a single electric motor at the front and this should also be standard with the Bolt EUV. Although, because Chevy Bolt EUV comes with the platform that is stretched 3 inches between the wheels, it could accommodate the all-wheel-drive system.
As you may know, the new BEV3 platform for Ev’s models with 400 miles of range is also available and this platform is used on the models Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV.
Release Date and Cost
The all-new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is the electric crossover that looks way better than the regular model. This SUV will arrive sometime next year as 2022YM, according to the manufacturer. As for the price, at this moment, there is no official info.
However, if we look at the 2020 Bolt EV that starts just over $37,000 for the base model and Premier trim level $42,000, we’re betting that more massive Bolt EUV crossover will start around $45,000. However, the price will definitively depend on the battery pack and trim levels.
