The famous German carmaker has just announced that is working on the new subcompact crossover SUV called 2021 Volkswagen Tarek. This small SUV will be attractive and it will compete in the same segment with the models such as Chevy Trailblazer, Hyundai Venue and Jeep Compass.
Also, according to the manufacturer, the upcoming Tarek will share many mechanical equipment with the size-up Tiguan model. Besides that, the new SUV will have dimensions similar to its corporate counterpart, the subcompact Audi Q3.

The upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Tarek is a subcompact crossover that will borrow many cues with the Audi Q3 model. According to the latest reports, both models will share the same platform. Whatsoever, the design of the new Tarek will be more attractive and we can compare it with the Tiguan model.
From the images that we got, we can see many similarities. The manufacturer used the same grille, headlights, and shape as the Tiguan. However, dimensionally Tarek will be smalled and it`s 175 inches long with a wheelbase of 105.5 in.
Interior Features
The cabin of 2021 Volkswagen Tarek should be familiar and it will be similar to other VW models. As we already mentioned, the new Tarek will share the same platform with Audi Q3 and thanks to that, it will provide enough space inside for five occupants. It seems likely that both ones will have similar passenger space and cargo volume.

So, we can expect many upscale materials and standard features such as ambient lighting, a fully digital gauge cluster, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.

The new 2021 Volkswagen Tarek is still in the production stage, so we don’t know for sure what will be under its hood. According to some reports, the new SUV may use the same engine version as the Tiguan. Moreover, the latest Tiguan model comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four unit that produces 185 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The next engine that is also rumored generates the VW Jetta model.
This sedan comes with a 1.4-liter powertrain that delivers 147 hp. However, we for sure know that the standard version will use a front-wheel-drive system, while all-wheel drive could be optional. An eight-speed automatic transmission will most likely be offered.
2021 Volkswagen Tarek Price and Release Date
The subcompact 2021 Volkswagen Tarek will compete with many crossovers in the same segment. According to the information that we got, the new model will be very affordable.
The cheapest model will begin at about $22,000. However, higher trim will provide more luxury and it will cost additionally. Like the many models in the VW line, we can probably expect the same trims to be offered such as S, SE, SEL, and R-Line. The new Tarek model will be exclusively made for North American markets and it will debut sometime this year.
