The forthcoming 2021 Mazda CX-5 is getting a new package called Carbon Edition, which will bring a lot of improvements. Perhaps the most visible change on the 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition SUV is the fresh exterior paint called Polymetal Grey.
Besides CX-5, the same treatment will also get a bigger brother CX-9 and sedan model 6. Moreover, all models will get stylish wheels, mirrors, and a few other pieces of exterior trim finished in black. Also, the cabin will suffer some revisions, and now it hosts attractive red leather upholstery, along with red stitching and black trim with a honeycomb pattern.

As we mentioned, perhaps the most significant change is “Polymetal Gray” exterior paint. Thanks to this color, the 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition is very recognized.
Generally, we like this color, and the manufacturer added some black accents on door mirrors and unique gloss black front grille. Also, CX-5 Carbon Edition deploys a new 20-inch black metallic aluminum alloy wheels. As you can see, these changes make this SUV looks more sporty than the regular model.
Interior Upgrades
The interior of the 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edtion will host some small revision compared to the regular model. Firstly, this fashionable SUV is now wrapped in a red leather interior, and it offers more upright materials. However, besides the red color, the buyers can customize their pattern. Basically, one can combine red stitching and black trim with a honeycomb pattern.
It is a perfect combination, delivering a more premium look. The layout remains the same, and through two rows, there will be room for five passengers. Mazda will also add more standard features. From what we heard, the Carbon Edition will be more driver-oriented. It will include a new 10.25-inch infotainment system powered by the latest version of Mazda Connect. Besides that, it also comes standard with heated seats and smartphone-mirroring functions.
2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition Powertrain
The forthcoming 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition won’t depart from the regular model regarding the engine. That means this edition will use the same regular powertrain as the CX-5. This model uses a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, and it produces 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque.
For the China market, Mazda offers a 2.5-liter turbo variant that delivers 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of twists. Also, in some parts of the world, the CX-5 model is available with a diesel engine that consists of a 2.2-liter engine making 170 hp and up to 310 lb-ft of torque.
Price and Release Date
Unlike the standard model that starts at $26,500, the new Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition will likely cost a bit extra. From the latest info, this model will be around $30,000. However, exact pricing numbers are yet to be revealed.
As for the release, it should starts in the first quarter of 2021. The new model will be available firstly in the U.S. and China. However, after that, we can expect this package to arrive in Europe too.
