Exterior Won’t Get a Facelift
As we already wrote, the current Sportage model already gained some beneficial updates. For that reason, the 2021 Kia Sportage will mostly arrive as a carryover model. Fresh styling looks perfect and definitely more aggressive than before. Both front and rear fascias are redesigned which includes the headlamps and taillights. New turn indicators and projector beam fog lamps are available too.
But remember, all of these updates are for the 2020 model. Larger air intake, new skid plates, and new rear bumper are in the offer too. New LED headlights are available, along with the 17-inch wheels. You can even opt for 19-inch rims that are optional. Newest exterior paint is Steel Grey Metallic. Overall, you can find plenty of sporty vibes with the new Sportage crossover.
2021 Sportage Gets New Driver-Assist Features
As for the interior, the 2021 Kia Sportage will introduce minor updates. That includes a couple of tech updates such as the infotainment system. On top of that, Sportage will get plenty of driver-assist amenities. For the start, the new model comes with driver attention warning and lane keep assist.
On top of that, smart cruise control is available too. High beam assist is available, along with the pedestrian detection and forward collision assist. Besides that, there won’t be any type of changes at all. However, the cabin looks as brand-new and further updates are not needed at the moment.
“S” Trim Level
The 2021 Kia Sportage has gained a new trim level. It is an “S” trim that slots between the LX and EX models. It comes with unique exterior design and perfect interior layout. All three mentioned trim levels are offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, an 8-inch touchscreen is standard. Sofino leatherette upholstery provides astonishing comfort and it is standard too.
If you opt for the S trim, you can choose between two powertrain options. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes with the direct-injection system and it delivers 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder comes with a turbocharger. This unit delivers 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. No matter which engine you opt for, you can choose between the standard FWD and optional AWD system.
2021 Kia Sportage Price and Release Date
Kia’s newest crossover will start at $24,000. It is the same price as the price of the current model. New 2021 Kia Sportage S will cost around $26,000. The range-topping SX Turbo is priced at almost $35,000. The 2021 Sportage will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2020.
