2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Production Will Start Next Year

2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Toyota’s RAV4 model became a very popular choice among customers around the globe. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will bring plenty of improvements and it will attract even more interests. It is one of the most anticipated models in the compact crossover segment. RAV4 Hybrid will arrive with great fuel economy figures, handsome look and very modern interior.

On top of that, Toyota will retain crossover’s great resale value. After all, RAV4 has always been an affordable model. The new model will introduce incredible safety rating on all trim levels. Rumors about RAV4 TRD Pro Hybrid are still just rumors. This famous trim level will most likely once again deploy a conventional gasoline drivetrain.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Comes With Modern Design

Toyota won’t introduce so many changes to its upcoming model. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will look exactly like the regular gasoline version. Both models will offer a very sharp and modern look. Creative design is present, especially upfront. New RAV4 Hybrid will get a slightly more aggressive look and sportier stance.

On top of that, the front part will now wear additional chrome accents. 18-inch wheels will remain standard choice while the customers can opt for the optional 19-inch rims. RAV4 crossover also comes with an optional two-tone exterior scheme. LED headlights and taillights will stay intact for 2020. A rear-mounted tire kinda looks too “ugly” for such a modern vehicle. Good news from Toyota as this feature is not available anymore.

Cabin Updates and Changes

The forthcoming 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will get more quality materials from the inside. The interior will also introduce new soft-touch surfaces. The cabin looks very modern and inviting. Numerous carbon-fiber materials are visible at first glance. Whatsoever, carbon-fiber claddings are available once again.

Optionally, you can buy leather upholstery that is standard on higher trim levels. Front seats are supportive and heating and cooling options will be optional too. Thanks to Toyota’s Safety Sense P suite, RAV4 Hybrid will get a five-star safety rating. Of course, if you want top safety rating, you’ll have to buy numerous optional safety aids. That includes a collision mitigation system, along with the pedestrian detection and blind-spot monitors.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Engine, Transmission, and Fuel Consumption

New RAV4 crossover will get a hybrid drivetrain. So far, this model offered only a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit. This engine is good for 175 HP and 170 lb-ft of torque. Now, the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid will combine the same engine with two electric generations and the battery pack. This output will deliver over 200 horsepower and around 210 lb-ft of torque.

That means the overall power is significantly improved. More importantly, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will offer around 33 mpg combined. Current RAV4 with gasoline powertrain is offering 25 mpg combined. On top of that, a CVT transmission will be in the offer, along with the AWD system.

Cost and Arrival

The all-new 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will hit the dealerships at the beginning of 2020. The base variant will arrive later this year. That means you’ll have to wait a little longer for the hybrid version.

Base RAV4 model starts at $25,000. That means the RAV4 Hybrid will cost around $30,000. The range-topping Platinum trim level is priced at above $40,000. Toyota will have plenty of rivals in the compact crossover segment. That includes the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V models.
