Mazda will finally answer the prayers of so many fans and customers. The 2020 Mazda CX-5 Turbo is coming to the markets. It is also a compact-crossover that does not depart from the regular model. But it offers a turbocharged engine, which is a significant upgrade. Turbo engine will be optional and it won’t come cheap. Besides this upgrade, new CX-5 will arrive with a slight exterior and interior updates.

The exterior of the 2002 Mazda CX-5 Turbo won’t suffer significant upgrades, but it will still look attractive. Highlights of the Kodo design language are the front trapezoidal grille and the stylish LED headlights. The front part gets more chrome details and the windshield will be pushed more to the back.
Both the headlights and the front bumper are looking very classy and sophisticated. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard but you can choose the optional and larger wheels. There will be five trim levels in total. CX-5 Turbo will look the same as the base model, the only difference is a mechanical upgrade. Styling is the same as on the current and larger CX-9 model.
Interior Is Looking Modern
When it comes to a compact crossover segment, the 2020 Mazda CX-5 Turbo will offer one of the most premium interiors. The cabin is looking modern and it feels comfortable. Luxury is guaranteed with this model and the use of upscale materials is fascinating. Visibility is great and the interior layout is oriented towards the driver.
Cloth upholstery is still offered as standard while the leather seats are optional. Upper trims are offering power-adjustable front seats as standard. There is room for five passengers over the two rows of seats. Cargo area is far from impressive as there are only 31 cubic feet of space. When it comes to changes, CX-5 Turbo will get a slightly larger center console that will sit higher than before.
2020 Mazda CX-5 Turbo Powertrain
The biggest upgrade for the 2020 model will be a turbocharged engine. While the base model is offering a 2.5-liter engine as standard, the 2020 Mazda CX-5 Turbo comes with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo unit. The standard engine can produce up to 187 HP and 186 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the turbocharged engine will crank out 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
First speculations were saying the CX-5 Turbo model will be available only in China. Now, turbo engine comes as standard on Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims and it will arrive in the U.S.
Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new Mazda CX-5 Turbo is around $35,000. The base model starts at $27,000, but if you want the turbocharged engine, you’ll have to opt for Grand Touring Reserve or Signature trim levels.
The price is affordable for such a luxurious compact crossover. This model will hit the markets later in 2019 and it will arrive in the United States as well.
