2020 Lexus NX 300 Won’t Get a Redesign

The all-new 2020 Lexus NX 300 will hit the roads once again later this year. The new compact crossover will arrive with minor changes and updates. According to numerous reports, a complete redesign will happen in 2021. For that reason, we expect a small number of changes. Lexus will mostly update the cabin. On the other hand, small visual upgrades will happen as well.

This crossover continues to ride on the same platform that underpins the current Toyota RAV4. However, Toyota RAV4 will deploy new TNGA architecture in 2021. Lexus NX could follow the same path. Overall, this crossover looks attractive and modern. Some parts, especially from the inside are looking stylish. A 2.0-liter turbo unit is still in the offer. If you want more power you can opt for the NX 300h variant.

Unfortunately, new 2020 Lexus NX 300 will introduce minor exterior changes. Our sources are suggesting a complete redesign in 2021. For that reason, a compact crossover will get a couple of mid-cycle refreshments. NX 300 model shares a lot of styling cues with the Toyota RAV4. On top of that, two models are sharing the same underpinnings.

New Lexus NX 300 will remain attractive and modern vehicle. Most of the parts will largely remain. However, small visual upgrades will happen up front. Cleaner design of the hood and headlights is hard to spot. The difference between the 2019 and 2020 NX 300 is very minor.

Most of the updates will happen from the inside. However, even the interior won’t get any significant changes. The 2020 Lexus NX 300 will introduce numerous small changes. Lexus will install more soft-touch surfaces while the interior layout will remain. High-tech features will be heavily updated. That includes the updates of the infotainment system and displays.

While the displays are offered in the same size, a new user interface is in the offer. The rest of the cabin will remain. Comfort is the same as on the 2019 model. Dashboard and center stack are unchanged as well. Overall, the cabin offers two rows of seats and interior room is generous. Cargo area delivers only 14 cubic feet of space. That is still below average for this segment.

The same story continues under the bonnet. The 2020 Lexus NX 300 will deploy the same 2.0-liter engine. This turbocharged engine with four cylinders delivers 235 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. If you want more power, opt for the Lexus NX 300h model. This model is actually a hybrid version with slightly more power. Even the 300h model will remain unchanged. It delivers great fuel economy numbers and slightly quieter ride. Both models will deploy a standard CVT transmission.

2020 Lexus NX 300 Price and Release Date

The price of the all-new 2020 Lexus NX 300 will stay intact. That means the upcoming compact crossover will start at $35,000. Higher trim levels will cost over $45,000. Lexus NX 300h is the hybrid variant that costs $40,000. Lexus’ newest crossover will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
