You can even opt for a longer version Yukon XL. Both models are also offering great safety rating and generally, this is a perfect family SUV. The technology department is great and there are numerous trim levels available. Beside the SLE and SLT trim levels, famous Denali trim is available as well. Moreover, GMC offers a Yukon Graphite model that looks amazing.

Speaking of competitors, the biggest rivals are Nissan Armada, Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia. Moreover, mechanical twins Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe will also look to rival GMC Yukon. Overall, this full-size SUV is so versatile and so easy to customize. If that is not enough, GMC offers different special models and optional packages. The price isn’t affordable but has in mind how versatile Yukon actually is.
2020 GMC Yukon and XL version design
The all-new 2020 GMC Yukon model grabs attention everywhere it appears. You just can’t miss such a robust SUV. It’s big. For the start, we won’t recommend this full-size SUV to the inexperienced drivers. Maneuvering in tight spaces is difficult from time to time. Furthermore, there are no smaller and larger versions. There are big and bigger variants as the Yukon XL is even longer than the base model. The base model is 203.9 inches long while the Yukon XL is 224.4 inches long. When it comes to the design and styling, Yukon offers large front grille that looks gorgeous.
Unique headlights are present and generally, the design of the front end is very unique. The base model comes with sheet metal materials, range-topping Yukon Denali comes with chrome materials. Moreover, Denali offers HID headlights and LED daytime running lights as standard.
To the sides, the base model will ride on the 18-inch wheels. The wheels are ranging from 18 to 22-inches on higher trim levels. Denali models are also offering more exterior colors and Satin Steel Metal is all-new. On top of that, 2020 GMC Yukon Denali trim is offering the Ultimate package that adds power sunroof, power-retractable running boards, and Midnight Silver exterior paint.
2020 GMC Yukon interior offers plenty of options
The interior of the 2020 GMC Yukon looks amazing. The design is so perfect, the layout is great and generally, the cabin looks stylish and artful. The comfort is brilliant and the use of materials is stunning. Furthermore, Yukon comes with ample interior room. That includes legroom and headroom in all three rows. This full-size SUV can accommodate up to eight persons, however, the third row is more recommendable for kids. If you want ample legroom in the third-row, buy a longer Yukon XL variant.
In both variants, the third-row is folding flat in order to create astonishing cargo space. Cargo area is so big, the Yukon makes its competitors look like a smaller hatchback. The technology inside the cabin is great and there is plenty of standard equipment. That even includes numerous driver assistance and safety aids. However, if you want premium comfort, you’ll have to opt for upper trims or the buy from the optional list of features. As we mentioned, 2020 GMC Yukon is very customizable SUV and there is plenty of options for the customers.
2020 GMC Yukon powertrain and torques
The approaching model will use two powertrain options. The 2020 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL will benefit from the standard 5.3-liter V8 unit. This engine is delivering 355 horses and 383 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available and two-wheel-drive setup comes as standard. This setup provides 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. A four-wheel-drive configuration lowers those numbers even more. If you opt for the GMC Yukon Denali, a 6.2-liter V8 will be the only powertrain option.
However, this larger engine generates up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and it is using a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Both engines will benefit from the direct gasoline injection and active cylinder management systems. Some rumors are mentioning possible diesel drivetrains that would boost a number of torques a little more. Additionally, the idea is to deliver slightly better fuel economy figures.
2020 GMC Yukon price and release date
The 2020 GMC Yukon model will start at around $51,000. The SLT version will cost under the $55,000 and Yukon Denali almost $70,000. Four-wheel-drive setup will cost an additional $3,000 and Yukon XL is $2,800 over the base model’s price.
The price is far from affordable and 2020 GMC Yukon is slightly more expensive than its brother Chevy Tahoe. Moreover, the price is above Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia. Whatsoever, we feel those competitors are offering far fewer options, weaker performances, and less interior room. The all-new GMC Yukon will go on sale later in 2019.
