Despite incredible sales of BMW’s crossovers and SUVs, German automaker won’t stop there. The company is now slowly moving focus on a high-performance version. The 2020 BMW X4 M is just one of the models we all anticipate. So far, the only two “M” models were X5 and X6.
Now, the company will introduce the all-new X4 M version. This crossover will offer practicality and great comfort. However, the main goal is to deliver a sportier version of the regular model. On top of that, BMW will look to additionally improve the aerodynamics and the performance.
2020 X4 M Exterior Changes
When it comes to design, the 2020 BMW X4 M won’t largely depart from the regular model. Of course, we can see a sportier appearance and a more aggressive look. And yes, we can expect a different type of grille, wheels, bumpers, and spoilers. However, under the skin, M version is almost the same as its base model.
Dimensions are intact and X4 M will also compete in a compact crossover segment. We must admit that we really like the sloping roofline and new aerodynamics. Some parts of the exterior are looking very sharp and the overall design is innovative. Taillights and headlights will largely remain. The base model will use 19-inch rims but X4 M will offer larger and more premium 21-inch wheels.
Interior Features
Interior will also look sporty. You don’t have to worry about the comfort and the quality of the materials. Everything from the inside look premium. BMW will now install more aluminum and dark oak wood. On top of that, new chrome trims are visible at first glance. Interior layout is perfect and legroom is generous. Even the base model offers a long list of standard features.
However, the 2020 BMW X4 M comes with the longer list. There will be plenty of luxury from the inside. On the other hand, the interior is incredibly sporty. New steering wheel, contrast stitching, and standard leather upholstery are exactly what this crossover needs. A 10.25-inch display is looking impressive and it offers a simple interface. Overall, comfort is guaranteed and that includes the interior room. The ride is very quiet and this model is perfect for longer trips.
Re-Tuned Six-Cylinder Engine
The upcoming 2020 BMW X4 M will deploy a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine. This unit can be found under the hood of the regular X4 model. However, in the base variant, the engine is making 425 horses. X4 M will get an additional boost and it will offer 503 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD system is available as standard.
Mechanically, X4 M will get numerous upgrades. For the start, tuned adjustable shocks, new steering rack and unique chassis modifications are all available. Even the brakes are changed. Generally, the 2020 X4 M will act very sporty on the road. It has power, great driving manners and it offers a very smooth ride.
2020 BMW X4 M Price and Release Date
Just like any other “M” variant, this one won’t come cheap as well. The 2020 BMW X4 M will cost over $90,000. The X5 M variant cost 100,000 so we can expect a slightly lower price. This sporty compact crossover will go on sale in late 2019.
