As we mentioned, this compact crossover SUV will offer three engine choices. The standard unit is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It can produce up to 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy provides 26 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The first optional drivetrain is the same but the larger 2.0-liter engine that delivers 252 horses and 260 lb-ft of twists. While the optional engine provides more power, mileage is slightly lower, 22 mpg in the city to be exact.
The 2019 GMC Terrain now offers a diesel powertrain that is optional as well. It is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that returns 136 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. All three engines are offering front-wheel-drive setup as standard and all-wheel-drive as optional. Gasoline engines are using a 9-speed automatic transmission while the diesel powertrain gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The all-new 2019 GMC Terrain model will hit the markets in the first quarter of 2019. This crossover SUV will cost $27,000. Unfortunately, the base model cannot be equipped with the optional features as some upper trims. With that in mind, you can opt for the SLE model that costs $30,000. A range-topping Terrain Denali starts at $40,000 and it provides real luxury and great performances.
