The new 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe will reportedly arrive next year with a mid-cycle refreshment. This full-size 3-row SUV is roomy and comfortable, offering great comfort for up to nine passengers. The new Tahoe SUV lineup of engines includes a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel inline-6.
All three engines are connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission, while rear-wheel drive (RWD) is the standard setup. However, you can still get a 4-wheel drive (4WD) on the options list or as standard in the Z71. Before buying a new Tahoe SUV, read below to find out more important information.
Will the New 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Be Redesigned?
Compared to the outgoing model, the new 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe will introduce some mild upgrades, mostly on the front and rear. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that this SUV remains as big as the Ford Expedition. It is 17.5 feet long, crash-testing most of its rivals in this department. Anyway, the design will change a bit depending on the chosen trim level. The LS and LT models will use standard 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Z71 and Premier will roll on 20-inch alloy wheels.
On the other hand, the top-trim High-Country model runs on 22-inch alloys. Changes this year will include a better appearance thanks to a black grille available with the LS, LT, RST, and Premier trims. New paint choices will be Silver Sage Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.
Interior Refreshments
On the inside, we basically expect to see some small refreshments throughout the trim levels. Anyway, the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe remains spacious, and the base model is promoted as a 9-seater. On the other hand, the LT, RST, and Z71 versions can accommodate up to eight, with an optional pair of captain’s chairs, which reduces the total passenger count to seven. There’s a maximum of 42 inches of legroom in the second row and 34.9 inches in the third.
The cargo area is one of the best considering it’s from 25.5 to 122.9 cubic feet. With the entry-level LS version, you’ll get remote start, keyless entry/ignition, power-adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 3-zone automatic climate control, Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. The safety package is also great, including forwarding collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, plus automatic high beams and lane-keeping assistance.
2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine Specs
The base engine will continue to be a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V8 making 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the RST, Z71, and Premier trims are powered by a 6.2-liter V8, developing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
This engine, we must mention, is also standard in the top High-Country trim. Another option is a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel inline-6 generating 277 horsepower. This engine is standard with the Z71. All engines above use a very smooth 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as the standard setup. Also, 4-wheel drive (4WD) is optional on all trim levels except Z71.
2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Price, Release Date
The most affordable 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $52,000 for an LS version. However, the top version could reach $80K with some options.
Compared to other rivals in the class, these figures are similar to those of the Nissan Armada, GMC Yukon, Ford Expedition, and the (tad pricier) Toyota Sequoia. The full-size Tahoe is expected to hit stores sometime next year, probably before wintertime.
