After the recent spy shots of the next-generation 2024 Audi Q5, we finally got a first batch of renderings. The new SUV looks refreshed, and it receives the same treatment as the Audi’s latest electric crossovers, the Q4 E-Tron. The front fascia is identical, and we noticed a boost in size compared to the previous generation.
Also, the latest Audi Q5 hosts side mirrors mounted at the base, which is contradictory to the last mirrors that are pushed back towards the driver. We’re expecting the refreshed model to land at some point in 2023, probably in summertime.
Will 2024 Audi Q5 Be Redesigned?
The first spy shots and renderings of the 2024 Audi Q5 are available, and we must admit that the new SUV looks sportier. First and foremost, the next-gen Audi Q5 has been caught testing with a completely new front fascia. It seems that the manufacturer used the same treatment as we saw on the Q4 E-Tron.
The aggressive face is present thanks to a single-frame grille, sleeker headlights, air curtains on either side, and a wide bumper opening that is visible at the bottom. Also, we noticed that the spied SUV is a little longer than the current Q5, probably because of mild- and plug-in hybrid setups. Thanks to that, we expect better legroom and cargo space. On the back, the latest Audi Q5 doesn’t look too different from its predecessor. In general, it comes with more attractive taillights, a redesigned bumper, and different exhaust tips.
Cabin Expectations
At the moment, there are no images of the cabin. We’re expecting the 2024 Audi Q5 to introduce a completely new interior, offering more rooms for passengers. This means a fresh cabin layout that includes some of Audi’s latest giant screens, more tech features, and probably a new upholstery option as well.
As for driver-assistance features, the Audi Q5 includes forward-collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, front/rear parking sensors, active lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high beams.
2024 Audi Q5 Engine Specs
The engine options of the 2024 Audi Q5 are not yet available, but they shouldn’t change too much compared to the previous one. The current Q5 comes with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The entry-level model makes 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. It takes 6.8 seconds to 60 mph, which is average in class.
Also, the manufacturer offers a more powerful mild-hybrid setup. This model produces 261 horses and 273 pound-feet of torque, and it is slightly quicker with 5.7 second’s time. The most powerful is a plug-in hybrid setup with 17.9 kWh battery. As far as we know, the electric motor combined develops 362 ponies and 369 pound-feet, while top speed is 130 mph when the internal combustion engine comes into play.
2024 Audi Q5 Price, Release Date
As we said, the 2024 Audi Q5 is expected to debut in 2023 as a 2024 model. The design of the forthcoming SUV is overhauled, and it looks way better than before. However, we don’t expect significant changes in pricing at all. The current Audi Q5 starts at $43,300, and it can top out at $65,000 before any options.
In our opinion, expect the latest version to be a little heavier on the pocket when it arrives. Just like before, the Audi Q5 will try to beat models such as the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Lexus NX, and the Acura RDX.
