The 2023 Volvo XC60 is ready for another mid-cycle refresh. We expect this compact luxury SUV to come later this year with a starting price of around $43,000. Based on many reports, the forthcoming Volvo XC60 will receive some small upgrades that should make it more eye-catchy.
Besides exterior refresh, we also expect to see a new Android-based infotainment system and many optional amenities. Thanks to all the changes above, the forthcoming XC60 will try again to compete against luxury- crossover/SUV rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, BMW X3, Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, and Acura RDX.
2023 Volvo XC60 Facelift
The exterior of the 2023 Volvo XC60 will get a modest facelift. The upgrades are mostly visible on the front and rear fascia. First of all, the design language is the same as we saw on the recently introduced XC90 model, featuring a grille design that has been updated.
The appearance of this SUV changes a bit depending on if you go for some of the upper trims. For example, choosing the R-Design trim, you’ll get a sportier look thanks to black accents and more chrome. The size of this SUV is unchanged, and it is about the same as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class.
Cabin Design
On the inside, the 2023 Volvo XC60 is stylish, and it has rich materials that mirror more expensive Volvo models. In general, every interior of this Scandinavian manufacturer is quiet, comfortable, providing adult-sized accommodations in both rows. As the outgoing model, the new XC60 will offer the same accommodation for five passengers.
All XC60 models are available with a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display that uses Volvo’s Google software interface. On top of that, there are several personalization options, and you can voice control everything via the Google Assistant. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, as well as the Bluetooth connectivity and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
2023 Volvo XC60 Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2023 Volvo XC60 will use as standard front-wheel-drive (FWD) and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder 48V mild-hybrid engine that produces up to 247 horsepower. If you go for the B6 version, the same engine will power it, but the manufacturer added an electric supercharger that boosts the output to 295 horsepower. Overall, both these powertrains are powerful, and both offer great fuel economy.
At the top of the XC60 range is Recharge models, which are available with either turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder engines connected to two electric motors. Depending on which model you choose, you can get 400 to 415 horsepower. Volvo claims that with a battery pack installed under the floor, this model is able to travel 18 miles of electric-only driving range.
