Spy photos of the upcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC have emerged, and this SUV looks better every year. If you didn’t know, Mercedes-Benz GLC went into production in 2015, and since then, it receives a mid-life facelift. Whatsoever, the new model is caught testing, and its body is unfortunately heavily camouflaged. However, we’ve managed to see many upgrades, including revised headlights and taillights.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC will also come with an updated version of Mercedes’ MHA (Modular High Architecture) designed to accommodate hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology from the latest news. Alongside, expect a new four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. According to some reports, the newest edition will arrive sometime in 2022 as a 2023 year model.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Facelift
The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class looks refreshed, and it seems that it is growing slightly for its previous generation. The front and rear ends are both revised, featuring a new grille, headlights, and slimmer taillights. Nevertheless, as we mentioned, it still sits on the updated version of Mercedes’ MHA (Modular High Architecture) platform that underpins the current model.
The updated platform will most likely save some weight, thanks to the increased use of aluminum over steel. The proportions have also slightly increased, and the GLC hood appears to have been stretched. On top of that, the roofline is lowered, resulting in a more attractive look than the current model.
Interior Comes With a New 11.9-inch Portrait-Oriented Touchscreen
While spy shots of the interior are not available at this point, some rumors indicate the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will inherit an 11.9-inch, portrait-oriented touchscreen. We recently saw the same infotainment screen in the C-Class, using the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system.
As previously reported, the latest edition will provide more comfort and enough legroom for all passengers. We can also expect more room, thanks to the starched platform. This model comes in form with two row of seats and it can fit five passengers comfortably.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Engine Specs
As for powertrains, the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will come with the new ones. The base model should use a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 producing much better output than before. Above, it’s likely that the manufacturer will use a 2.0-liter engine in some form of hybrid combination.
On top of that, Mercedes literary recently stated that all GLC variants would feature some form of electrification, including the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC63. PHEV variant could come with an 8.7 kilowatt-hour to 13.5 – and a new 7.5-kW onboard charger. That means we can expect a doubling of the electric range to about 30 miles. The current GLC PHEV delivers a combined output of 315 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
Release Date, Price
We can expect the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC to debut sometime next year. If rumors to be accurate, the release date will happen in the fall. As mentioned, the upcoming SUV has been caught testing recently, featuring revised grille, headlights, and taillights.
Generally speaking, we should expect more changes on the final variant. Nevertheless, the new GLC-Class is still sitting in the small SUV segment, where models Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Volvo XC60 dominates. Pricing is not yet available, but we presume a slight increase compare to the current model that costs $43,000.
