The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is the latest model in the EQ electric lineup, featuring a very futuristic design and seating for seven. Just like mentioned siblings, the new SUV also rides on the latest automaker’s dedicated battery-electric EVA2 platform, which will also be used on most upcoming models.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS Platform and Design

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS underpinning battery-electric EVA2 platform that will be used on many upcoming models. Unlike other Mercedes SUVs, this one looks futuristic, and it comes with world-class aerodynamics thanks to smooth underbody, and closed radiator shutter.

We like every detail on this SUV, especially the deep black surface of the grille that defines its face. The rear of the new SUV is also very attractive, featuring eye-catchy taillights all around the trunk.

Comfort for Seven Occupants

The highlight of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS is definitively its cabin. It looks modern inside, and the seven-seater tops 28 cubic feet with the third row down. On the technology side, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS comes with a huge 56-inch touchscreen with scratch-resistant curved glass. It incorporates three screens, a 12.3-inch driver display (the instrument panel), a massive 17.7-inch OLED central display, and a 12.3-inch OLED front passenger screen.

Just like the Mercedes EQC, the EQS comes with a great safety kit. This model gains an impressive five stars in Euro NCAP safety tests. It includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, and a surround-view camera with automatic parking assist.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS Motor Specs

Mercedes-Benz company recently stated that the EQS would be available in a few configurations. Firstly, there will be a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive EQS450+ SUV that delivers 355 horsepower. The next and more potent is a dual motor in the EQS580 4Matic that produces 536 hp and 633 pound-feet of torque. As far as we know, all U.S. models will have a liquid-cooled/heated 107.8-kWh battery pack, while in Europe and other markets, the EQS is available with a smaller 97-kWh battery.

Depending on configuration, this SUV can range from 300 to 350 miles on a single charge. It is also worth noting that Mercedes is offering free unlimited 30-minute DC fast-charging sessions at Electrify America. Moreover, you can charge this SUV with a 200-watt DC fast charger from 10-percent capacity to 100 percent in only 31 minutes. However, using a 220-volt charger at home needs just over 11 hours.
